We have stayed at many Econolodges in our travels, and the most exasperating part is how inconsistent this chain is. I enjoyed my stay at the Econo Lodge in Van Horn, Texas. This hotel is located far enough away from I-10 so that you are not bothered by the traffic sounds. 1> This is a good motel. Van Horn is the only town within reasonable driving distance that has a good choice of motels, gas stations/prices. Room was clean and staff was friendly and efficient. The continental breakfast was meager. It is not on I-10 so you don't have to deal with noise from the highway all night like you do at motels on the access road. I would stay here again. Date of stay was May 29, 2004. more
