My family discovered the Palms Resort 4 years ago and will never stay anywhere else. We visit the island 4 or 5 times a year and always stay at the Palms. The location is great. The hotel is small, which we love, unlike a large hotel flooded with guest, this is very intimate. The rooms have everything you need -... More

This establishment was the favorite of my in-laws. They visited the area many times. Since her death three years ago, we have been planning a gathering of the cousins to commemorate her life in a spot special to her. The accommodations at the Palms Resort are very vintage; but very well kept. The rooms were exceptionally clean, the staff particularly... More

Location is very good, being on the beach in a good area;, however, none of the rooms of this old two story building face the Gulf, so you have to settle for a peak out at it from a window in your room. Front desk staff are all very friendly and upbeat. We booked room 215, listed as a superior... More

I want to thank this guest for letting us know about the issues in 215. By the time I read this review, maintenance had already addressed most of the issues. I personally inspected the room as soon as I read the review. I agree is was overdue for a makeover. Room 215 is our most popular room so it is... More

Clean rooms with nice fridge, microwave and bar sink. Great front office staff. Right on beach and has nice little pool and good restaurant. It might be a bit pricey for what it is. However it is a nice change from the bug highrise condo. Might be a bit cramped for than two if family were staying for awhile. We... More

We stayed here because the place we wanted to be was full but from now on we are staying at The Palms Resort. Would have given it 5 stars but there is nothing fancy about it. Soap, body wash, and shampoo from Bath & Body Works though. Didn't find any place else we would have rather stayed. Cafe on the... More

The PALMS RESTAURANT is a pricey South Padre Island restaurant for the actual food they offer. Be prepared to drop about a $100 for lunch for a party of 4 people. Nice views, okay food, HORRIBLE waitstaff, VERY rude. I've received better service at the local McDonalds. The Palms is a complete waste of your time & money. What a complete... More

We usually get great feedback about our staff, so I was very concerned when I read this review. I investigated the situation and was able to quickly find the employee that served this guest. He was with six other guests that were at our Cafe for dinner and drinks on Sunday evening. Everyone ordered a drink (margaritas, etc). When the... More

I stayed in room 214 and friends stayed in 209 mid-Feb. 2012. This was my second stay at the Palms and I was not dissapointed. The rooms are small, but well-designed, clean and comfortable. Many Palms winter occupants are long-term and referred to as "winter"-Texans" and the best view rooms are usually booked far ahead. We enjoyed the attached restuarant... More

Their name is a bit aspirational; there’s not much about this place that is resort-like. But with the right expectations you can give The Palms two thumbs up. You are directly on the beach. There’s a bar. They serves decent meals. And the rooms are suitable. What else could you want? You don’t come to the Palms to stay in... More

Advised it would be cheaper to book direct, nice tip, so we cancelled our Expedia reservation paid the fee and it was sitll cheaper! Fantastic layout with everything we needed. Bathroom was a little tiny and the remote control a little old but for the price and the location this place is a steal compared to others along the strip.... More

We stayed at The Palms in November 2011 during our Thanksgiving get away. This was our first visit to this facility (we have stayed various other places on the island), and we decided to stay here based on the reviews and because they allow pets – we had the two family dogs with us. We stayed on the south side,... More
