The room (#24) was very small, and the arrangement of the bathroom was a little strange. The shower and toilet were in one very tiny room, and the sink and small mirror were in the room next to the dresser and bed. Soap/shampoo/conditioner and shower towels were provided, and when we left the "do not disturb" sign on the door,... More

I had been wanting to stay at the Tarpon for about 15 years, but we always stayed a little closer to the beach. I only had 2 nights of the Memorial weekend free to go to Port Aransas and Tarpon Inn happen to have a room available online. I was excited. We actually stayed in an Efficiency on Brown Street... We've been to Port Aransas many many times, but this was our first stay at the Tarpon Inn. Things we loved about it: It's rich in history. The location is great, unless you want to walk to the beach, it's a bit far for that, however, it is a short walk to shops, bars, restaurants, and the marina. The long... More

We stayed for three nights during Spring Break. This is a charming, historic, OLD, hotel. It's not a Holiday Inn - the rooms are very small and each room is different. My mother's room had a small closet and a tile shower (#32). My room had hooks to hang clothes, no closet and a plastic insert shower (#33). I had... More

This was a very nice hotel. Trip Advisor lists it as a B&B, but it is a hotel. It was in a great locatio, close to every thing in town. It was quiet. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. However, I am not sure I would stay here again unless there were no other hotels availabe. The... More

My husband and I stayed at the Tarpon Inn for New Year's weekend in 2011. His first time to Port A and my second. I stayed at the Tarpon Inn with my Mom in April of 2009 when they were rennovating and the owner was fairly new with the Inn (I reviewed and loved that stay as well). Well, the... More

Friendly staff, clean but small room. I forgot to pack a hair dryer because most hotels have them. But even if I had remembered mine, there was no plug! We just needed a place to sleep and it suited our needs but it's awfully pricy for the small space.

First of all let me say that I mostly knew what I was getting into; an old, historic, not many amenities hotel. My wife and I stayed in room 33 for three nights recently. This is a room with a queen size bed. The bed took up the bulk of the room, there were some hooks on the wall to... More

Staying here is staying in history! As I understand it, it was built to house Civil War Union soldiers, but turned into a inn by the 1880s--something like that. The porch that runs long the entire front is what I love. You can sit on a rocker and just enjoy, enjoy. If you choose to stay here: note that you... More

If you want to experience the real Port Aransas, this is the place to stay. It's close to great seafood restaurants, the fishing boats, all the action. You can walk to a number of restaurants and bars. You can sit on the porch and watch the world go by, read a book, or meet your neighbors. We've stayed in Port... More
