The lake has now dried up and gone away. The campground is still listed as open, but noone even works there any more. We have stayed at this campground several times. The last 2 times we were treated to coyote calls at night. A real treat, also, were the different varities of birds- Black capped chicadees, tufted titmice, brown thrush, blue jays, and of course, sparrows. Loved this campground! It's relatively small, but oh so pretty! The sites are so big and secluded with so many trees around you you feel like you're the only ones out there. Great campsite about an hour outside of Houston. Wonderful lake with fishing. We caught 8 bass and 1 perch within a 2 hour period. Lake has a beachfront area perfect for kids.
