We've camped their 5 times last year, actually were there on June 10-13th, and can guarantee the camp hosts were on site as well as the Ranger. We camped right across from the hosts this time at site 63 and talked to the Ranger at least once a day and waved to him when he was driving his rounds the... More

The lake has now dried up and gone away. The campground is still listed as open, but noone even works there any more. Their sign at the entrance says "no fishing, no swimming, no campfires or charcoal bbq grills. Only propane bbq grill allowed." There was 6 inches of grass where the lake used to be. They didn't even warn... More

We have stayed at this campground several times. The last 2 times we were treated to coyote calls at night. A real treat, also, were the different varities of birds- Black capped chicadees, tufted titmice, brown thrush, blue jays, and of course, sparrows. Squirrels played right outside the windows of the travel trailer. Great places to ride bicycles and walk... More

Loved this campground! It's relatively small, but oh so pretty! The sites are so big and secluded with so many trees around you you feel like you're the only ones out there. And there's plenty site types to choose from, lakefront, wooded, group sites and connecting sites, along with the normal hook-up and dry sites. The hiking trail around the... More

Great campsite about an hour outside of Houston. Wonderful lake with fishing. We caught 8 bass and 1 perch within a 2 hour period. Lake has a beachfront area perfect for kids. Campsites are roomy, with trees seperating each area. Bathrooms and water spouts nearby. Water-front sites available. Easy 5-mile hiking trail around the lake. Fun 8-mile biking trail, as... More
