Our visit to Lyndale is the first out of the main holiday season and it will not be our last. The roads are quiet, the beaches are beautiful, and the welcome from our hosts is as warm as ever. The cottage is comfortable and cosy, with all that you need for a stay on this magical island. This afternoon we... More

We stayed at this lovely place, Lyndale, again - we'd stayed here last year and vowed to return. It was just as beautiful and peacefull as I'd remembered, if not better. The cottage was still cosy and warm and elegant and there are the lovely Lyndale grounds where you can walk amongst the trees or down to the isolated beach... More

We stayed at the Gate Lodge for a few days - it couldn't have been nicer. An ideal spot for touring the gorgeous Isle of Skye, with a lovely cosy cottage to return to. A big THANK YOU to Linda & Marcus for being such great hosts More

The perfect antidote to modern life. We spent an idyllic holiday at Lyndaleon Skye. Lazy lunches of fishing-boat fresh langoustine and crab before strolling on the white sands of Shell Beach. Exploring ancient burial mounds and archeological sites before discovering the ruined cathedral of the Isles hidden on a river-island at Skeabost. Another day cruising a sea loch watching seals,... We recently stayed at the Gate Lodge which is located at the head of the drive to Lyndale House. This is a beautiful "pepper pot" style 2 bedroom cottage which is light and airy but also snug and warm at night. The kitchen is well equipped and the Rayburn stove is easy to use, the wood burner gave a lovely... More

We booked to stay on Skye with Lyndale House, staying at the gate house for a week. We found Marcus and Linda most helpful and welcoming and the cottage was fantastic. There was nothing better than spending the day out to return to the cottage's wood burner and a wee dram. The cottage was ideally placed for visits to all... More

We stayed at the Gate House self catering cottage, part of Lyndale in September. The internet photo's make it look exceptional so we were disappointed to find that it was average only. We had booked and then seen the poor review and decided to ignore it! We are not "grumblers" so thought it would be as excellent as the reviews... More

I've never been to Skye before but have fallen in love with it on my first visit. Staying at Lyndale House made it all perfect. Surrounded by its own beautiful grounds and with glorious views over the loch and coastline it was just wonderful. It was so peaceful yet within comfortable reach of Portree and all the other parts of... More

On NO account book the Lyndale House Gate Lodge self-catering cottage. We had originally booked 2 weeks, however it was so catastrophic, we cancelled the second week and asked for a refund. The owner chose to withhold some of the second week refund with the following quote taken directly from her email: "It was your choice to leave early, sadly... More

Beautiful place, lots of effort into making it a gorgeous home. Perfect place if you want an undisturbed weekend, but personally I wouldn't go back as I found it impersonal. All rooms are very tasteful but definately best to go for the double room with ensuite - if you have seen that then the other double upstairs does not seem... More
