My wife and I went to the Alay at the begining of September. Our cases were taken by the hotel porter to our room in a seperate lift. Room was comforteble but not mush storage space for clothes etc. good view to the sea and beach. The food was very good but deteriated on the last days although still good... more

I stayed in Alay in June and it was a mixed experience. We had a view of a dilapidated hotel, the decor was so cheezy, and the air conditioning didn't work. To beat all, they cut it off around 3am. The only good thing about Hotel Alay is the location. We arrived and they didn't have all our rooms, until the next day. The air conditioning in my room didn't work. I called the front desk and they sent up a women who didn't speak english, and she said it was working fine, so the refused to send the maintenance... more

I have stayed in 4 star hotels in Europe before and did not have high expectations of the Alay. I was very happily surprised with the hotel upon my arrival. The front desk staff was more than accommodating to our millions of questions and managed to procure 2 very much wanted tickets to a show at another hotel for us... more

This review pertains to room 755 at the Alay, a corner room in the tower building facing the Mediterranean providing a commanding view of the marina and sea front. Stayed here for a long weekend in march 2007 and am going back June 2009, like some of the other reveiwers have said the hotel can seem a bit dated but if u can look past the décor u will find a decent hotel with the most fanastic location, 2 minutes up the road u will find 24hr square, benalmadenas... more
