The Crowne Plaza in Downtown Houston is a great hotel for a relaxing getaway. It is central to both downtown and midtown activities. The big bonus is that unlike many hotels downtown, the valet parking overnight is not an extra charge. The Temperpedic beds are wonderful. The staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. My stay was for business. The rooms are really nice and have internet connections. I would really recommend the restaurant there. The food is so good. The room service is great also. The people that work there really make you feel at home. Everyone is so nice. It is located down town, so I do not need a rental car.... more

Buyer Beware. This is the worst hotel for the price that I've ever been to. The hot water went out monday morning at 5 am, and wasn't on until noon. The next day, the air went out, and the room was hot and stale. The service is extremely unprofessional, and made us to feel like we were not even here.... more

Stayed for three nights in early September 2009 for some Astros baseball. Pros: Quiet hotel in SW corner of downtown right off the I-45 with minor weekday construction on Smith St. side of hotel at the time. Hotel was good - rate was attractive, service was excellent. Priority Club gold members get free breakfast. Hotel has free internet access. Only downside is $25 parking ($12 at weekends). There is nothing to do 'downtown' so you have to drive - but i think this is the same wherever you are in Houston. more

On arrival toilet was clogged. black hairs were found all around the so called jacuzzi tub (It was only a big tub, no jacuzzi), Ceilng has water damage .Food was disguisting and very pricey!
