The Crowne Plaza in Downtown Houston is a great hotel for a relaxing getaway. It is central to both downtown and midtown activities. The big bonus is that unlike many hotels downtown, the valet parking overnight is not an extra charge. The Temperpedic beds are wonderful. The staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. My stay was for business. The rooms are really nice and have internet connections. I would really recommend the restaurant there. The food is so good. The room service is great also. Buyer Beware. This is the worst hotel for the price that I've ever been to. The hot water went out monday morning at 5 am, and wasn't on until noon. Hotel was good - rate was attractive, service was excellent. Priority Club gold members get free breakfast. Hotel has free internet access. Only downside is $25 parking ($12 at weekends). There is nothing to do 'downtown' so you have to drive - but i think this is the same wherever you are in Houston. more
