I came to this hotel with a conference attended by about 600 people. Although this Hyatt was pretty and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful, it wasn't what you would expect from a Hyatt. Rooms were nicely sized, and hotel is near to the George Brown Convention Center. The restaurant (Shula's steakhouse) was sensational. The hotel is centrally located. The rooms are comfortable and spotless. After my initial check in, every staff member called me by name. The service was impeccable. First I want to say that the staff here is super accommodating and friendly--at least the ones that the public sees. The hotel lobby is nice, with a convenient if pricey bar area, and the rooms have been recently renovated/updated to include a nicer work desk. I stayed at the hotel on a weekend business trip to Houston (Sunday). The hotel is nice, as you would expect from a Hyatt, good service, etc. But the place is dead on a Sunday, and there is nothing nearby if you want to get food later in the evening.
