As other comments - this place is sandwiched between a major highway and the rail track - with freight trains in the night I thought they were coming for me. I arrived at night and only saw in the morning that the tracks were 10m from my room - see photos. It seems also to be popular with truck drivers... more

That's what I'd like to know. Right on the bedspread, not just a stray hair or two (though there were certainly plenty of these, too) but a big clump of hair like someone had just cleaned out their hairbrush on the bed. Thankfully I stayed here only one night, and I got in late and left early. Aside from the... more

After a two night stay, I inadvertently left my cell phone charger in the hotel. I called the hotel the next day, and was told by the desk clerk that she could not help me, and that I needed to call the next day and speak with somebody in housekeeping (apparantly, for whatever ridiculous reason, the front desk clerk does... more

I have an annual spring business trip to Houston and settled on this Comfort Inn because of its location and price. It's handy to both downtown and the 610/Galleria area and charges a fraction of the big-name places, plus parking is at your door. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. A problem a couple of years ago with... more

I was very disappointed with service from the beginning. Rooms were not ready at checkin. Swimming pool was closed for the season (no mention of this when booked) was told it was available but clerk confirmed there was a pool but was closed through April? So what does "available" mean you say? good question. Remote control did not work in... more

I stayed at this location for two nights, because I was attending a conference in downtown and the prices downtown were way too high. However, I had to rent a car in order to get back and forth, so didn't save much money after all. I made this reservation by phone to the Comfort Inn national phone number. I wanted... more

If you sleep EXTREMELY soundly, you'll be OK at the Comfort Inn, Downtown Houston. Otherwise, avoid this hotel at all costs. Why? Because a freight train runs all night long on a track that's about 100 feet from the hotel. And BTW, the hotel is really NOT in downtown Houston. It is at I-10 and Washington -- well north of... more

Stayed for 1 night, and we knew it was going to be bad when the front desk had to buzz us in when we arrived late at night. What kind of hotel locks their lobby and makes you talk to the front desk staff through a security window (a la a gas station at night)? The room was in order... more

The Hotel was nothing like it looked on the website. I requested a late check-in, and my credit card was charged ahead of time, but when I got to the Hotel, they told me that they were sold out. I had to wait for about 30 minutes with 2 kids before I got a room. It got worse in the... more
