We stay every year at this hotel and the rooms are always pristine and gorgeous. The beds and linens super soft and comfortable. I have a really hard time getting out of their beds in time to get any beach time. This is more of a non-family hotel --the sister hotel Galvez has a pool and better suited for little... More

We had not stayed at The Tremont House in about 20 years and were concerned that it may have fallen victim to the economy and hurricane Ike. Not to worry, the hotel remains first-rate. Our only complaint is the bathroom is a bit tight. Our room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff are most accommodating. Check-in and check-out... More

I stayed at The Tremont for just one night, but the staff treated me as if I was a regular or staying longer. I didn't even say hi at reception before the clerk had told me welcome you must be .... we have been expecting you. The rooms were decorated in an old fashioned way, wood floors and very high... Nicest Rooms. Spacious area on the king room but the Restroom was a little small. The restoration was well done but like previous reviewers the fact that many of the ammenities are at the sister hotel the Galvez Spa makes that a deal breaker depending on what you are looking for. But if you want to be a block away... More

The hotel is a well-done restoration. The only problems are that hall noise travels and most recreation facilities are at the sister Hotel Galvez some blocks away. The Tremont is near the port area where there are a number of restaurants and shops while the Galvez overlooks the beach - and noisy seawall drive (called a mudwall by one reviewer... More

This past December (2011) I stayed at the Tremont for the 4th time during Dickens on the Strand (http://www.dickensonthestrand.org) weekend in Galveston. Every year it just gets better and better. The staff is very professional and helpful in everything. The only problem we had was we were trying to borrow an umbrella and the door man said it was fine... More

My husband and I wanted a bit of time for ourselves before we entered the holiday relative visits. We couldn't have done better than the Tremont in Galveston. First of all, despite what I've read in some other reviews, the Tremont House makes no secret of its location in historical downtown Galveston--AWAY from the beach. In fact, that is one... More

We've stayed here before and recently went back for Dickens on the Strand. I love it even more now! Honestly, this is one of my favorite hotels period. If it was in San Fran or DC instead of Galveston, it would be $500 a night. This is the perfect location for Dickens on the Strand!!! We had a room where... More

Thanks for your review. I am glad you found your stay so enjobable. The Tremont House is great for couples as you mentioned. While families and everyone are welcome the hotel is perfect for couples get a ways while families traveling with children often prefer Hotel Galvez and Spa on the Seawall. Sorry your room service experience was not what... More

We booked a cruise out of Galveston leaving Sunday Nov. 27th 2011 and needed a place to stay. We decided to pick this hotel because it was really close to the cruise ship terminal, and it was a Wyndham Grand hotel so I knew my expectations would be high. This hotel did not disappoint. We had a great two night... More
