My room was clean, the staff was helpful, and the water was hot. The noise level was very high with nearby trains and trucks are constant. The price for the room is a bit costly.

We had been driving for 12 hours straight, I knew Dalhart was my destination so I called around and checked reviews prior to booking. The young lady I spoke to outright lied when she said they had some of the clearest rooms in town. When we pulled up, I noticed tape on the door, red flag #1! I was anxious...

Didn't notice the train noise others mention but we were exhausted from a long day on the road. Pet friendly rooms available with microwave, fridge and wifi. Rooms are definitely due for some attention to chipping paint, etc. and we felt that the rates were a bit high for the location but can't complain for basic place to crash.
Fate brought me to Dalhart, Texas...or at least it was late night mechanical problems with my car. I was able to get into Dalhart and was able to book a room that was pet friendly, as well.
My non-smoking room was clean and fresh! The salmon pink walls would not have been my choice of colors; but, it was warm...

This place is right next to the rail yard and houses the many train crews. Its noisy at all hours and reminded me of the travel episode of I LOVE LUCY where they get a cheap motel room and the whole room shakes when a train passes by.
This motel was reasonably priced and the rooms had refrigerator & microwave. Access was from outside and we could park in front of our door. Yes, trains go through day & night, dutifully blowing their whistle at every crossing. I expect that every other motel in Dalhart has the same problem - there's just no getting completely away from trains...

Cleanliness is what counts. Not stained or scratched furniture. Guests stain the furniture not the ones that own the motel. They jus do their best to keep it clean. I liked my stay and definitly plan on coming to stay when I come back.
If you have to stay in Dalhart, TX dont stay at this hotel. It had stained furniture, and the shower had patched holes all over it. They said it was a non smoking room, but being a non smoker I could deff tell that it was a smoking room (stunk of old stale smoke). They tried to cover the smell...

If you need to spend a night in Dalhart, Texas, choose one of many other options over this Econolodge. While we have stayed at several Econolodges that provide a clean, comfortable inexpensive room, that is not true of this location. In addition to a really poor location (train tracks on two sides- at the intersection of two heavily traveled highways)...
