I have been coming to these cabins for about 15 years and I have always had a wonderful time. Take a walk down the nature trail to the river, the location is quite and away from the Hwy, so you can actually hear and see nature. I love to just sit on the porch in the rocking chair watching the... More

You are definitely paying for the location. We stayed two nights at one of the "original" cabins. Because we booked "off-season" we had the doubtful privilege of paying $20 a night for linens, because we do not have a queen sized bed and would have had to buy sheets just for this trip. The area around the cabins are gorgeous,... More

Love coming here every year, great cabin. Set back near river, and close to our favorite places - Garner State Park, Leakey and Concan and especially the Frio River. Always great to see the Yaklin family.

We had a great time and really enjoyed the Cabin! The river had a lot of weeds in it from the drought last year, but I think in time that will sort itself out. The Cabin was just as advdertised! Perfect for us and sitting outside listening to the Turkeys and watching the hummingbirds in the morning was awesome! A... More

I have been very fortunate to experience the River Terrace lodging and Frio River since the mid 1960's. It started with my parents taking my sister and myself and has continued to the present day with my daughters, their husbands, grandchildren, and a host of friends. Nestled under Oak and Pecan trees are quaint cabins located just a short walking... More

We have been coming to this location on the Frio River - (Frio River Cabins-The Terrace) for about 22 years. It is a beautiful place with wonderful water to suit everybody. There is deep water for those who like to swim and some shallower water for the younger members of the family. The owners, Don & Lisa Yaklin, and their... More

If you are looking for a great hill country get-away, then this is it. My wife and I spent 5 nights and loved every minute of it. Our cabin was well cleaned and maintained. It is located very close to the river so we did not have to go far to enjoy the fishing and swimming. Nestled among large oak... More

We just spent three nights during spring break. The cabin was nice and clean, we liked the setting and the grill/fire pit. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the kitchen decently stocked. It's deceptively close to the highway - you feel like you're secluded but the road actually takes you around so you're back closer to the highway than you... More

I just love the cabin I stayed out, they are nice and comfortable and literally steps away from the Frio River! My cabin felt tucked away and secluded, especially at night when I sat on the porch and watched the stars. If you've never been to the area it's likely the prettiest and most interesting in all of Texas. The... More

We needed a quick getaway after Christmas and are glad we found this spot! The kids loved all the deer and splashing around in the COLD water in rainboots-thank goodness I brought them. The Frio is beautiful but much too cold for me during the winter months. My husband and kids found a fishing hole on a spot of the... More
