We wanted to swim in Balmorhea State Park's wonderful natural artesian pool, so stayed overnight here. It was a very nice stop... quaint like a little oasis. Great location and friendly service. We'll recommend it to others.

We stayed overnight in El Oso Flojo Lodge. It is conveniently located not far off the I-10, and was a perfect place to stop on our drive from Albuquerque NM, to San Antonio TX. The rooms are lovely and large, and have air con, a fridge, TV and everything we personally needed. Not sure if there was internet available, but... More

For the small town of Balmorhea this is a diamond in the rough. The rooms are quite nice and decorated with nice quality furniture, not your typical hotel quality furniture. Shower was extremely spacious and beautiful. The restaurant attached was great, except slow service. The only issue I have with this hotel is the nonexistent from desk, and I do... More

Rooms and courtyard are very attractive, but the service (after waiting 5 minutes for someone to show) consisted of someone showing up just long enough to take more than $100 of my hard-earned money, and never seen again. Once in the room? No refrigerator. No shampoo. Not even soap. The large vessel sink and hard-to-operate faucet on the small counter... More

Beautiful little place. I am a sucker for gardens so the little Spanish style courtyard, fountain, and birds made this paradisaical. Rooms are nice considering the lack of alternatives in a town this small. Ours featured a nice tiled shower and comfy beds. The little basket of snacks and drinks was very welcome after a long drive.

A great find during a road trip. There aren't many places to stay near Balmorhea, and finding one like El Oso Flojo was a great treat. Nice central grounds, barn swallows flitting about, large, comfy rooms. We stayed twice, once in each directions and it was very good both times. Some fixtures are getting older and the ACs make a... This is a great place to stay. I wan't sure what to expect in a small town like Balmorhea.....but it was excellent. Our party rented four different rooms. All of the rooms were super clean and nicely furnished. The towels and sheets were really nice. Walls were a little thin and you could here some noise from neighboring rooms, but... More

I was taking my family on a West Texas vacation. Balmoreah State Park was full. Having been through Balmorhea several did not want to commit on the internet reservations. What a pleasant surprise when I saw the rooms here. Definitely worth the stay. Rooms are clean, well appointed and comfortable. VERY RECOMMENDED.

I don't know much about this area but my fire crew and I were in west Texas for the Rock House Fire. I didn't expect much and was basically looking for a place to relax but this hotel blew me away. Nice rooms with Wi-fi, nice decor, friendly folks and a restaurant with beer right next door. The staff was... More

We were absolutely floored by the quality and value to be had at the El Oso Flojo. To be honest, we had pretty low expectations going in having driven by a number of pretty skeezy looking motels catering to the tourist crowd in West Texas. The rooms were clean, all the furniture was high quality (i.e., not hotel-grade junk), the... More
