This is such an historic place, very old sandstone pub on the original Cobb and Co route. A beautiful little village. This place is rustic to the extreme. The accommodation is comfortable and reasonably clean. The food is good and wholesome and generous in servings. There was a jazz band on in the garden on Sunday afternoon and they were... More

We stayed at "The Courthouse B&B" which was wonderful. However the staff at "The Settlers Arms Inn" were very uncourteous and treated our questions about whether they would serve dinner as if we had offended them. My husband could hear them whingeing about it in the kitchens. He also found the beer they served unpleasant and the bar maid's manner... More

The cabins out the back of the Inn were great. Authenticaly laid out inside for the era they were looking for. I was a bit amused to find the was no TV knowing that i never watched Tv anyway. It was all too expensive for what we got though. The big turn off was my fellow travelers being inconsiderate of... More

We were on a private birding tour and our guide had never stayed here so none of us really had much to go on beyond the glossy photo on the website. In real life, the building may not be glossy but it is very charming, the staff was friendly and we certainly hadn't dreamed that we would find a yard... More

We booked this place at the last minute without any research and headed off with an open mind. Travelling from Sydney with 2 kids we took the scenic 5 Ferries Drive (cross the rivers on car ferries) and stopped at the Wiseman's Ferry Pub for lunch. The kids were able to safely run around in the paddock below. We headed... More

I took my parents visiting from out of state from sydney all the way out there. It's a nice drive and the hotel itself is quite nice, you can feel the history in the place. The food is pretty expensive but passable but the whole experience was ruined by the bar staff who were amongst the rudest I've encountered anywhere.... More

A great recommendation for any hotel (or restaurant) is that it is frequented by the local community. The Settlers Arms certainly is! The public bar had a blazing log fire and I was greeted by the buzz of friendy conversation when I went arrived for a pre-dinner drink. A spirited darts match was in progress and, after chatting with one... More

I was very excited coming back to The Settlers Arms for an overnight stay this weekend, having visited for a Sunday lunch a few years before. I was however severely and abruptly disappointed on our arrival. We arrived at about 6.30pm and after being intimidated out of the main bar by what seemed to be a meeting of the local... More

The historic Settlers Arms Inn is located in the tiny town of St Albans. It is a charming old building located near the river and surrounded by trees and picnic tables. We enjoyed the social atmosphere at the inn, chatting with locals and other travellers. The pub meal was amazing and the staff were both helpful and friendly. It's a... More
