We chose Plas Mawr essentially for the location - it's close to some of the forest stages in the area which comprise WRC Wales Rally GB. Located between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth it enjoys a rural backdrop in the hamlet of Eglwys Fach - not that great when we arrived in the fog and the rain but absolutely stunning when we... More

We were met by Tina on arrival who couldnt have been more helpful. The large nicely decorated en suite room was very pleasant. The kingsize bed was comfortable and we were well supplied with coffee tea and biscuits. The breakfast was excellant. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come again. Peter and Hilary More

A lovely room, with a view of Ynis Hir (with buzzards roosting on trees in view). An excellent breakfast to set you up for the day was complimented by the offer of afternoon tea or full tea. The welcome was warm and overall the stay was a lovely break. More

We were warmly welcomed by Tina, though it was late and she didn't know we were coming! The room (en suite double) was lovely. Clean, plenty of room, and well supplied with tea, coffee etc. Lounge was a bonus - comfy sofa, well stocked bookshelves and information about local attractions. Breakfast was lovely, and you could have what you wanted!... More

Although we only stayed for one night we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The old house is lovely and our room was very comfortable. Although on a road there was no noise from the traffic. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Internet access was free in the lounge area which was cosy and well stocked with books & magazines etc. More

We had originally booked in for 3 nights, but sadly had to leave after only one night (due to family bereavement). However, we were greeted very warmly on arrival and shown to a lovely king sized room with excellent en suite shower room. Although overlooking the main road, it is quiet due to the double glazing. The bed was comfy... More
