I am sorry that you felt you needed to give me a bad review here. As with all the B&B's locally, a deposit is payable and if I am unable to relet the room it is non refundable. You cancelled 2 days before your stay so it is not surprising that the room wasn't re let. If you had come...

Stayed for 1 night in August 2011.
Excellent comfortable room with a massive bathroom! Karen was very helpful and welcoming, her welsh cakes were very good!
Small indoor swimming pool in the garden, good breakfast. Quiet and relaxing despite being near the road.
Would definitely stay here again!

Many thanks to Karen and family for a warm welcome, a comfortable stay and an oasis of calm and relaxation. A great place to stay if no car as buses handy. Places to eat in walking distance and so much choice of things to do, even at Awelfan. Tell Karen what you are looking for and it is likely it...

Everything was perfect. I especially enjoyed the yoga class. The room was spacious with beautiful views of the sea. There are several beautiful walks close to house. I would recommend a stay at Awelfan. You will receive a warm and gracious welcome.

Many thanks to Karen for making our stay such a pleasure. Her attention to detail was first class. Rooms and breakfast were excellent. Particularly liked the swimming pool. An ideal base for our visit to the northern part of the National Park.

Couldn't find any fault with Awelfan. Karen was the perfect host, friendly, very helpful with knowledge of local area and recommendations for walks, places to eat, etc. House was spotless, room was big and airy with spacious bathroom and beautiful views. My husband swam every day and had no problem with availability of pool. We had more than ample breakfasts...

Excellent rooms and location, spacious and comfortable. My only minor niggle would be the unnecessarily stingy and rigid attitude towards breakfast choices - for example if you want oats porridge or cereal, than you cannot have any fruit or yoghurt, etc. Seems silly and such a pity.

I am sorry you felt this way, there are 5 sections to the breakfast menu, the section you referred to shows a choice of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit salad or porridge. There is a bowl of fruit also with the cereals ( which are self service) , guests can add to their choice. I serve greek yoghurt with the fruit...
