A local pub not serving food recommended The Morning Star to us and even dropped us off here. The ambience of the pub was not at all what we thought it would be before we went inside. It was really oldie worldie and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They literally couldn't do enough for us. We had the... More

Stayed for business for 4 nights; I was working very unsociable hours and coming in around 4am. Very accomodating staff, allowed me to have very late breakfast due to late finish at work, had keys to the property to let myself in and out at whatever time I pleased. Super friendly staff and clientele; excellent food, wonderful old pub atmosphere.... More

Not sure if it is still called The Morning Star but we just had a meal and a few pints in this wonderful pub in Ruthin. What a lovely suprise, great beer and tasty food and all in front of an open fire. If we lived in Ruthin this would definately be our 'local'. Keep up the good work and... More

Stay on a regular basis and after trying other local B&Bs I can say that this is the best place i've stayed in Ruthin. The pub has a lot of history, character and charm which is complimented by traditional home cooked meals and real ales. There is a log burning fire in the bar area which is very cosy in... More

The bedrooms are very well appointed, with very nice en suite bathrooms. My only adverse comment is that the noise from the bar transmits upstairs to the bedroom, as the building is very old, obviously nothing can be done about this, This is a minor point bearing in mind the value for money room rates and good food served in... Having arrived late evening the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and well decorated however due to the age of the building the floors ran every which way but level but this provided us with a laugh. We decided to eat in the bar and we were not disappointed, the standard of food that... More

Stayed here although it was about 4 miles from our walking route and it was worth it.The food and welcome were excellent -one gripe however because the inn is very old most of the upstairs floors were sloping and the bed we slept in was out of horizontal by about 10 degrees. Some might find this charming but as an... More
