We stayed for two nights during a tour around Wales. This Country House Hotel is set in 21 acres of land with lovely views over the estuary and nice grounds to walk in. We stayed in the "Newland Griffin" room which was an adequate size with some nice facilities such as iPod docking station and mini bar. Plenty of creaking... More

Just come back from a 2 night stay which should have been fabulous as we were blessed with great weather. However, although the public rooms at the hotel are impressive, our "luxury" room was far from luxurious. The furniture was a mixture of Ikea type wardrobes and G plan bedside cabinets and definitely not what I was expecting. To make... More

Just returned from our second visit to Penmaenuchaf Hall and we were not disappointed. This is a well-appointed country house hotel with attention to detail. Setting is stunning. Masses of beautiful daffodils in bloom at present. Meals were delicious and staff were delightful. Can`t understand some negative comments about this hotel some previous Trip Advisor writers have made. Certainly our... More

We have just returned from a 2 night stay. We had a charming room ( Taylor ) which had lovely views of the garden and a very nice spacious bathroom. The grounds and all the lounges, dining rooms etc were beautifully laid out and furnished. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The evening meal was excellent, as was... More

Stayed here with my friend on a Travelzoo deal which included a 3 course a la carte dinner. Lovely countryside setting (2 1/2 hours drive Liverpool). Room (Ashworth) was tastefully furnished and beds turned down in the evening, which was a nice touch. Had pre-dinner drinks with canapés in the drawing room adjoining the restaurant. Lots of choice on dinner... More

Great hotel in a good location. Decent food and nice clean rooms. However we had serious issues with the staff on checkout and the management response afterwards was weak to say the least. This managed to turn what would have been a great stay into a sour one. If staff and management came together for the customer this could be... More

My partner booked us in for a two night stay as a birthday treat for me and what a treat it was. The entrance hall is delightful with all sorts of nik knacks and occasional furniture. We were greeted by a very welcoming lady who arranged for us to be shown to our room. The room, overlooking one of the... More

Looking for a pet friendly hotel this was the perfect location. Our room was positioned within easy access to the beautiful grounds/gardens, very handy for taking the dog out for walks. The staff were very friendly and spoiled our 'staffy' which made our stay very relaxing. Plenty of walks to try nearby, brilliant scenery, interesting places to visit and a... More

First impressions great, a wonderful area, lovely public rooms, staff all very friendly and helpful. Very disappointing room, scruffy furniture, bed excruciatingly uncomfortable, on closer inspection seemed to be a homemade solid wooden base with a thin mattress on top. Dirty marks all over the carpet, and no proper drawer space. We were moved to another much more comfortable room,... More
