I had arrived very late to this hotel, and the following morning went to breakfast and as I went to sit at a table, I was told, "no, over there" and put on a different table to the one I went to sit at. I asked for poached eggs and when they arrived they were cold, stone cold. I had to... More

lovely old hotel, gentile shabby and the elevator doesn't go to the top floor, but the views across the town to the sea and the castle ruins are stunning. Lovely management. Very 'Faulty Towers' but I like that sort of thing. If you are looking for a sleek, modern hotel - this ain't it. If you want a shabby chic... More

Just got back from a stay here with Alfa Travel. Rooms could do with a refurb but public areas are nice and clean and the staff in the hotel are very friendly and helpful. Set evening meal was pleasant enough and always something appealing to choose. This hotel would be a good base to stay under your own steam as... More

We went with Alfa coach holidays for 6 nights and stayed at the George iv. We stayed in a triple room 305 and it had views of the castle and sea Fab! The room and bathroom was spacious and clean, it was tired looking and could do with re-decorating but saying that it had character. The staff extremely friendly and... More

I stayed here with my husband on an Alfa coach trip for 4 nights dinner B&B. The hotel windows were being replaced at the time but it didn't put us off. The staff were so friendly, they would do anything for you and the food was good. The room we were given could have been better, but, it was very clean... More

A large coach party from Alfa Holidays visited this hotel and on arriving at the hotel quite a few eyebrows were raised at the state of the hotel facade. Windows were missing all replaced with wood boards and the stonework appears to be in need of renovation. It turns out that the hotel is being renovated and the leaded light... More

Forget all the old reviews. This place has been totally refurbished, at least on the inside. The scaffolding is still up outside though but that doesn`t matter and they had a water leak all over the new carpet in the foyer that they didn`t seem to be able to stop. Maybe welsh plumbers do not work over the weekend. It... More

My wife and I arrived wondering what to expect after reading some of the existing reviews. We travelled from Kent for a five day break with Alfa Travel and got to the hotel at about five o'clock. Our room was on the first floor and adequate for our needs. The en-suite facilities were ample and clean with complimentary toiletries and,... More
