Thanks to the Travelzoo offer we found this gem of a place. Although our rooms were standard they were adequate-comfortable and clean. The highlight for us was the food - our compliments to the chef and the staff in the restaurant for a superb dinner with excellent service. The men in our party rather enjoyed the real ales available in the... More

Arriving at The West Arms first impressions were good. We made our Travelzoo prebooking known to Reception and reminded them that extra nights had been booked. They said the extra nights had to be paid to them, although these had already been paid for at the time of booking. As Reception is in the Lounge we found the situation quite... More

Thank you for your review. We are happy you had positive comments to make. We did send you an email on the day of your departure to hopefully clear any misunderstandings. Unfortunately we have strict guidelines to adhere to by Travel Zoo and the only message which was clearly conveyed to us at the time of checking in was that... More

We went to the West Arms on a Travelzoo offer and really enjoyed our stay. We were given a small room in the annexe which was fair enough as we were not paying anything like the normal price. It was comfortable and had everything we needed. The best things about this place are the location, which is in a pretty... More

This gem of a Hotel is in the beautiful Vale of Ceiriog. There was nothing we could fault from the friendly reception we received from the staff on arrival and throughout the stay nothing was too much trouble, the cleanliness of the Hotel, the superb quality of food in the restaurant We hopefully will be returning for another relaxing break.

Welcoming, warm, snug open fires. Host escorted me to room in cottage and offered choice of single room with bath or room with shower etc. across lounge. I chose latter and didn't meet other residents when to-ing & fro-ing as each had own utilities. TV in room had poor reception but could relax in cottage lounge with better signal. Bar... More

Thank you for your kind review - we are glad you appreciated our old Inn with its quirkiness and comfort but without the intrusions of huge TVs in reception rooms which are often evident in today's modern hospitality venues. Also the lack of phone signal and occasional unreliable communication is often welcomed by those who wish for complete relaxation or... More

The two people we have to thank first of all for making this a lovely break are Mr Travelzoo and Mr Satnav , it would not have been as enjoyable without either of those. First impressions are always very important, and ours were that the setting was very scenic in a little characteristic village , we could just make it... More

Thank you for the review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. It is good to receive feedback and we always look at the comments constructively. Unfortunately we cannot fit a shower (a full sized one) within this 16th century character room as the quirky bathroom will not house it.... we do have more modern rooms with... More

Had a two night stay in one of the annex rooms. Not the biggest of rooms but then you get what you pay for. The staff were very friendly and we were made really welcome. The food was excellent. The village and surrounding areas are beautiful and fully recommended. we will be back

If you want a cosy get away from it all break, this little gem should be at the top of your list. Situated high in the Berwyn Mountains the village of Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog (or Llanarmon D.C.) is a like alost little village along the glistening Ceiriog river. The West Arms is an old farmhouse with low ceilings and beams.... More

We stayed in the Howard room, we arrived at approx 1.30pm and the room was ready for us BUT the heating had not been put on, it was cold and raining outside and the cold had permeated the stone walls and the original looking steel framed window had little to offer in the line of insulation, we keep our coats... Thank you for your review and the time and trouble you have taken whilst staying with us to make notes of all these things! The Howard, named after a previous owner John Howard in the 1800s, is a unique room with its uneven floor, elegant four poster bed with deep mattress, tremendous character and quality furnishings with deep carpet, fluffy...
