We had a wonderful time at Y Branwen. We stayed there for 4 nights as we played different golf courses in North Wales. The location was perfect, while we had a car none was needed because the train was across the street along with Royal St. David's golf course. We found the rooms, while small, to be great and clean.... more

The room was clean but devoid of character. The owner and waitress are extremely polite and helpful. Breakfast is varied and flexible. The evening meal is not gastropub or restaurant - but it is a notch above pub, and around this part of Wales generally above standard On Saturday night we couldn't sleep until 1:30 am due to a v... more

Stayed just one night for walking the locality. Very friendly welcome, we were made to feel at home. Room was fine and spotlessly clean. The hotel owner makes a point of supporting local produce and the result is a range of excellent beers and foods. The main meal was excellent and the breakfast fantastic! Local sausages are delicious! We would... more

Clean rooms, food in restaurant was good and good value. Breakfast was fantastic. Very friendly staff. Would describe it as a B & B with a bar and restaurant rather than hotel. Would go back. more

When we visited, this hotel/brasserie was busy and seemed popular with golfers and overall a good atmosphere. The décor is modern and the owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. However we were not that impressed with the food, and wouldn't return for a meal. The menu is varied, and while the dining experience was okay, it wasn't in... more

This was a very nice little hotel within spitting distance of a great castle. The restaurant associated with the hotel was very good and the rooms were beautiful, new and clean. One minus was our bed (which was a bit too hard in room #4) but our daughter in #3 had a softer bed--so tell them about this if you... more

We loved the Y Branwen. I agree with everything written here. The bed was extremely comfortable (especially the night after our transatlantic flight - could not have been better). My doubting Brit husband was very impressed with the service and the hotel. He thought it was a great find in Wales. The breakfast was great too. We hope to be... more

I stayed here before the place was re-vamped and loved it. Now it has been re-vamped I love it even more. All the staff are extremely polite, and customer focused, the location is wonderful and I can not fault it as a whole at all. You are welcome from arriving through the doors and even the after care they provide... more
