Make no mistake - The Clachaig is an inn not a hotel. We stayed in one of the lodge rooms (the motel style rooms at the rear of the inn) and we found both the room and its furniture were tired and not particularly clean. The room was also dingy. For a family of four the room was cramped. Our... more

Clachaig is situated next to Glencoe’s Three Sisters, at the end of one of the most breathtaking 2-mile stretches of road in the world. It’s really the only place to stay in the area (better than Kingshouse in all respects), particularly if you’re in the neighborhood to climb or hillwalk. As a result, you’ll be sharing your digs with outdoorsy... more

Just returned from a 4 day walking break in the Scottish highlands staying at the Clachaig inn. It's a legendary place and deservedly so. I wasn't disappointed. The situation is perfect for walkers/climbers with magnificent views all around. The boots bar is brill, warm and lively and a great place to congregate and have a beer after a long day... more

We have been going to the Clachiag for years and it i an amzing place - you can't beat the views. We sray in the cabins which later in the year are very good value. The staff a friendly and accomedating, as some people have mentioned on here - yes the decor is a bit 'tired' in places but the... more

For the first time in my life I have had to return a bar lunch. After a 30 minute wait my Cajun Salmon arrived along with my wife's Steak and Ale pie and my daughter's Vegetarian Haggis. Whereas my wife and daughter's meals were average (apart from the price) but edible, the Cajun Salmon was a dry shrivelled husk with... more

There is nowhere quite like the Clachaig Inn. Rock climbers, walkers, tourists - everyone has to go to the Clachaig some time. It is world famous wherever climbers meet - they plan Everest expeditions here. They have live music here twice a week. They offers the best value bar meals in their lounge. There is activity, fun and life here.... more

The Clachaig manages to satisfy a broad market from the conventional family B&B groups to walkers and climbers. We stayed twice as an overnight stop on the way to and from the Western Isles. The first stay was in one of the chalets that lie at the back of the pub. There were some issues with this room. Mostly it... more

Lovely lovely location, great views and SO much to do in & around. Oban, Fort William, Mallaig, trips to the islands and so much walking ;-) The roms are a bit tired and dated, but lots of tea and coffee supplied. Evening food was Ok, breakfast could be better. Food was nice (fruit was frozen?!) but service a bit ropey.... more

We used this bar on a Friday and Saturday night when staying in a campsite just up the road. The food was above average. The bar gets very busy, so arrive early if you want to get a seat in the bar where the live bands play on Fri/sat evenings, there are a couple of other rooms if you want... more

We stayed for 3 nights while doing a tour of Scotland and it was perfect. The food was great 3 nights out of 3 so it cannot be a coincidence. Breakfast was also good, my other half had "The Whole Hog" which includes black pudding and haggis - ideal to set you up for a days walking. I had porridge,... more
