dont ever stay here you will regret this, how people have not died here i do not know there is no way the fire brigade would be happy with the bed arrangements and the amount of people they cram in. its a disaster waiting to happen. you have been warned More

Stayed at this hostel for an overnight as part of a weekend walking holiday. I haven't stayed in a hostel before but this was the preferred alternative to camping. My expectation weren't too high but their internet site led me to expect better than we received. At £20ppn it wasn't as dear as a hotel but with 2 of us... More

we were double booked even though i phoned a number of occasions to confirm. my "double room" was the landing next to the stairs with a rug hanging down to form a "wall". location was good but just the whole set up is wrong. not very clean either. spend an extra £10 and get to a B&B. if you do... Not only was I double booked after pre-booking with Hostel Bookers. I was offered the "Yurt" (polythene gazeebo with walls) in the overgrown scrapyard that passes as the grounds of the cottage... It would appear that cleaning is never carried out at this place and has not been done for some considerable time... I won't be back More

This place has the potential to be really nice but on arrival it seemed rather like being invited to an acquaintance's shabby house who'd forgetten to clean up and make any preparations before the guests arrived! The pine clad interior, wood stove and sofas give the place a cosy feel but the facilities aren't really adequate for the number of... More

I've been to many hostels around the world and this is one of the worst!! Even though this had been booked months in advance for a wedding party, there was still double booking. We arrived around 5 and none of the beds had been changed. My friend found a dirty sock in her sheets. The owner was three hours away... More

Despite a fantastic location, reasonable pricing and what could potentially have been a lovely cottage, The Braveheart Backpackers hostel is most certainly a place to avoid. The place is utterly filthy. When we arrived you could not see any of the worktops or table tops due to "stuff" being everywhere. Dirty pots/pans/cutlery/old food and random detritus. There were 15 in... More

This place needs a serious amount of organization. We've stayed in a large group twice now for sole use and both times have been double booked, which does lead to uncomfortable situations. the owner can be difficult. The hostel is in a good location but there is so much junk lying around and no worktop space in the kitchen due... More

Well below an acceptable standard. Despite booking via hostelbookers.com we were not expected. Filthy, untidy and smelly. We would not have stayed the night had there been any other alternative accommodation. . More
