We travelled perhaps on the worse day of the year to Arrochar as the Met Office issued red weather warnings due to gale force winds. Despite our train being cancelled and having to go by bus between Glasgow and Helensburgh, we were pleasantly surprised to be picked up by the owner from the train station in Arrochar. After some initial... More

This was a stopover on our way out to the Hebrides, so just a one night stay. Location: Conveniently located just a few miles away from Tarbet and at the head of Loch Long. Its situated on the mainn road which though not busy by uirban standards is quite busy with quite high speed and heavy traffic which can be... More

The room was approximately 12ft x 8ft 6ins with no sitting chairs, 2 x 3ft beds pushed together, a door through to the en-suite and an old television perched on top of a wardrobe. The bed heads were across the small dimension leaving less than 18” for bedside cabinets either side of the bed. One of the cabinets had tea... More

I wouldnt normally do this as this may effect someones livelyhood, the feeling of" being had" compelled me though. the room we had was plagued by the smell of sewage and the reek of septic tank. notice as you walk in that every plug socket has an ambi pur air freshner plugged in. Digusting sweet smell that fails to mask... More

The B&B opens right onto the road, with a small private car park at the side. While the views are stunning across the loch, there is an intermittant stream of lorries all through the night, just far enough apart to allow you to begin to drift off before the next one rattles the windows. Take ear plugs? The bed was... More

Travelled up on bikes with friends from Shropshire and was glad to get into the room but only to be let down with the quality. Used the bathroom with the handle falling off when closing the door, towel rail half off the wall. The room was very noisy when the window was open due to a high volume of traffic,... More

Spent one night here with friends and a dog. Found the host very hospitable and friendly. The b&b is in a good location and is very clean and neat. Breakfast was very good! Would have no qualms about a return stay whatsoever. More

Stayed 1 night at Rowantreebank with 5 friends and my dog. Our rooms were clean and spacious enough and the owner volunteered to move furniture to accommodate my dog's bed. The views over the loch were fantastic. The upstairs rooms were a little low ceilinged for some of my taller friends but this didn't cause a problem. Although the B&B... More
