We stayed for 2 nights and were very happy with our stay at the Village Inn. We had bed and breakfast which you couldn't fault, sausages and all. I agree the reception area was small but does that really matter, I think not!! Our room was absolutely fine. The staff were friendly and very helpful. A great base to explore a... More

When we arrived at the Village Inn we were pleasantly surprised. It has an excellent location overlooking Loch Long and had a lovely well kept garden. The building itself also looked well maintained. However on walking in the impression changed. Reception is a tiny cupboard under the stairs and there is clutter everywhere. Our room was in the main house... More

We visited this pub for a meal after my partner remembering it from years ago as a great place to eat and drink and we were not disappointed. The loch side location is beautiful and the food was delicious. Great selection of specials on the board and very helpful waiting staff. I was even offered a piece of Scottish tablet... More

Stayed one night at the Village Inn.First impressions were very good however we left slightly disappointed. Our room was nicely decorated with a scottish feel to it,Tartan curtains, heavy furniture and a nice size, unfortunately there was an annoying high pitched whistling sound coming from somewhere in the early evening which by 6am the following morning turned into a gargling, clanking noise as... Great homely pub. Busy, perfect atmosphere. Some great real ales on hand pull - "Peter Well" was a crisp clean pint. Comfy sofas, log fire, tasty food and fantastic view. When passing next time I will be sure to call in. Make sure you book or you will be disappointed when turned away.

Stayed for one night only, thank goodness. The bar and lounge area were fine, big log fire blazing away when we arrived so it all looked cosy but we were put in a room in a separate cottage at the back of the inn and it was awful. It was like a cave, cold, damp and dark, with windows looking... More

We stayed (my wife and I) for one night. On the plus side friendly staff, nice bars and the food was pretty good. The hotel however was populated by groups of work men who had a contract nearby. No problem with that, but changed the feel from countryside inn. the big minus was that we got very little sleep due... More

I would like to apologise for the noise in your room. I will do my best to get this rectified. I am sorry you felt it was more like a contractors inn. Arrochar is getting a lot of work to make it more of a tourist destination which is great for visitors and villagers. I do hope you will come... More

Stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed the experience. The room was a good size, comfortable, quiet and with a very deep freestanding Victorian bath, great for relaxing in after a hard walk on the hills. The food is of a very high standard, with great specials each night. The bar has a good atmosphere and is well stocked... More
