Stayed here for 3 days with hosts, David and Kate for the Isle of Bute Jazz festival in early May. Made very welcome and enjoyed the food and breakfast room views. Less than 100 metres from bus stop to Rothesay and in the other direction the bus stop to,the not to be missed Mount Stuart, whatever the weather.Only drawback in... More

We stayed at the Ardyne last weekend for 3 nights, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Kate and David are friendly and welcoming hosts, the guest house is very comfortable and clean, with fabulous views over the bay. The breakfasts are freshly-cooked to a high standard, with extensive choice, and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend the... More

My partner and I decided on a trip to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute for the Easter Weekend and ended up in the Ardyne due to the larger hotel on the front being fully booked. We were so glad it was otherwise we would not have booked into the Ardyne. The Ardyne is run by the very welcoming Dave... More

Made the trip from Norfolk in March, worth every train change. Dave and Kate. (and Tess 'n' Kipper) made us very welcome. Great everchanging view of Rothesay Bay and beyond from our very comfortable on suite double room, breakasts were very generous and beautifully cooked and presented. By the end of our 5 day visit, we felt we 'd known... More

My first choice when coming to visit Bute. Dave & Kate always make me feel so welcome that it feels more like a home from home than than a hotel/guest house. This is not my first visit, but it is the first time I've left a review and to sum it up I would totally recommend The Ardyne and it's... More

We stayed twice in January with Kate and David, at the coldest time of year - and we were made to feel extremely welcome and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble, and the guest house is lovely. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well appointed, and despite sleet and freezing temperatures we were warm and slept well. The breakfasts were... More

The Ardyne Hotel is under new ownership, well-run and homey. A very fine location - close enough to town, but far enough away to have some quiet. Magnificent views across the Firth of Clyde to the mainland - and a brilliant rainbow, too. Kate and David were wonderful hosts, going far above and beyond for this traveller who showed up... More
