Definitely different than the others; but why being afraid ?! The place is really worthwhile the few aditional steps (ok, quite steep, but that's something you won't have to climb the next day, think about it ...). An old manor (where one of the kings used to come for some hunting parties), which is the property of a private company... more

My dad and I stayed for one night during our walk along the West Highland Way this summer and Mamore Lodge was certainly the most memorable hotel we stayed in! We chose to walk up to the hotel the most grueling way possible, along a very uneven and steep path but it was worth it once we'd reached the hotel.... more

This was my second stay at the Mamore Lodge. If you want a generic hotel, do not stay here. If you want an Edwardian hunting lodge off the road with a roaring fire, a geniune inn keeper family, a very nice small bar, decently mixed drink, and a refuge from mountain storms, this is a nice place to stay. The... more

Stunning location, beautiful wood panelling, comfortable rooms and most acceptable stop for a few nights. It may not be to everyones taste and gourmets would be disappointed but it definitely has charm. more

I didn't read the reveiws before booking in and am glad I didn't otherwise I would have missed a lovely experience. Paul, who rents the hotel from owners seemed to be almost on his own running the place but was friendly and helpful. Yes its not the cleanest place I ever stayed in (although I have stary in worse!)and yes... more

After walking a 10 mile day on west highland way we happiily found the closest pub in the odd town centre of Kinlochleven. After the first much needed sip of beer we began to enquire to the staff about how on earth we get up the hill to the white building looming above the town - we had earlier spotted... more

On arrival it was dark and one light showed us the way to the bedrooms - the stairway was like a "close" The view from our bedroom was spectacular but, like most other reviews, that's where the good points end. The rooms were dirty, although the bed linen was clean, the bathroom was dirty and the decoration was awful. My... more

I have traveled through Kinlochleven twice now for Business. The first time I choose the Mamore Lodge. What disappointment! The rooms were dirty, food was tasteless, and the staff was very abrupt and quick to move me through my meal. I was eager to book somewhere else and will not be going back. I can’t believe I didn’t even get... more

It is hard to describe how indescribeably bad this accomodation is. We booked the room online and judging by the description it seemed a great deal eg: Stunning views ! 700 feet up in the Mamore mountains etc. This was all true but the hotel itself was a nightmare. The furniture looked like the remnants of a fire sale, our... more

As we walked up the private road, footsore and weary after tackling a section of the West Highland Way, we were delighted to have the offer of a lift from two of the Lodge staff making their way to work. As we entered the lobby the case of scary looking dolls simply looked quirky. Going up the bleak staircase with... more
