This is a small(5 bedrooms)Highland hotel with a big heart. Ask for a room at the rear and you will look out over the golf course to the sea with views of the Firth of Clyde and Ailsa Craig-lovely! Breakfast is a veritable feast -be aware the portions are huge. More

The hotel rooms are quaint and what you would expect. We were very pleased with the service, especially in the restaurant. Good people and good value. More

Another fantastic stay at the Ashbank, lovley to go back to a hotel and be remembered by the owners. Carradale is such a lovley village you are made to feel very welcome by all. Stay at Ashbank as good as last with amazing food and new specials so we had plenty to choose from. Still very busy even in October... More

We don't understand the good reviews for this hotel. Be aware that this is really a B&B, an average one, charging hotel prices while missing basic hotel comforts as follows: grey seen-better-days towels, no toiletries apart from a tube of handwash, no biscuits with the tea/coffee, television with indoor aerial showing 3 fuzzy channels, no wifi, no guest lounge to... Stayed here with our miniature schnauzer for two enjoyable evenings as part of a tour of the West Coast of Scotland. Made to feel very welcome although the bedroom was a little on the small side but offset by the excellent evening meal and hearty breakfast. A good place to stay for touring Kintyre and would certainly stay there again More

Friendly, welcoming, clean and tidy. Good food at reasonable prices. The hotel is much like the village it is in where total strangers say hello and pass the time of day with you. Very pleasing experience. More

What a really lovely little hotel this is. We arrived totally on spec, on a Saturday afternoon, with not alot of options in the area for accomodation, and the owner could not have been more helpful. She re-arranged beds and rooms and while we were having our evening meal ( even a half an hour after the kitchen had closed... More

Had a fabulous time at the Ashbank, weather could have been better, but hosts Tracy and Fiona were excellent, with advise on days out and things to do and see. The book on Kintyre which they lent us for the day really helped us discover the area. We stayed in a double room at the front of the hotel, it... More

My friends and I stayed for 1 night in The Ashbank. Wish we could have made the stay longer. Excellent, family run hotel. The bedroom I was in (Number 1) had stunning views of the golf course and the sea beyond. Bedroom was very comfortable. Weather was fantastic too! Food/drink was super. Tracy was really helpful and made our stay... More
