WHAT A LOVELY WELCOMING PLACE. We had bought a boat and were collecting it at Ardrishaig on a Friday after it came through the Crinan Canal, and had booked to stay the night here as it is so close to the canal and the lock basin. Unfortunately one of the bridges was down and we had to cancel our booking... More

I have stayed at the Grey Gull several times since the beginning of the summer while in the area on business. The hotel is comfortable with big rooms and well equipped bathrooms. The restaurant, bar and lounge area is also comfortable with goof views over Loch Gilp. The service is unfailingly efficient and friendly. Food at breakfast and dinner is... More

We just spent the one night at the grey gull. The staff were pleasant, good humoured and chatty. We paid £70.00 for a twin midweek in November which was a bit pricey. The room was clean and spacious but featureless. Modelled on one of those awful travel lodges or Premier Inns. Breakfast was good and served with a smile in... More

My wife and I late booked a room at the Grey Gull Inn. When we booked we were well warned that the only available accomodation was at the very top of the house. Nevertheless the rate we were offered was attractive so we reserved the room with a credit card. On arriving a week later we made our way to... More

44 (a walking group) of us had an excellent week-end party at the Grey Gull, August Bank Holiday 2011. The rooms were very comfortable - mine was beautiful, very clean, with a walk-in shower and the most beautiful view out of the ground floor window. The food was excellent too - good breakfast with everything you could wish for. Good... More

We are a walking group from Southport in England. Our weekend was just amazing. There were 44 of us and we have had trips to numerous hotels in the past but by far this one has been the best. The hospitality was second to none, nothing was too much trouble for the friendly super efficient staff who were always cheerful... More

My wife and I stayed at The Grey Gill Inn in April for our honeymoon. What can I say apart from that we have a lovely time and would recommend it to anyone. From the four poster bed, to the fantastic food (breakfast cooked to order and steaks the size of busses). Managed by a lovely family who could not... More

A spacious room for one person - beds for three! Spacious bathroom with shower over bath. Very comprehensive breakfast. Welcoming, friendly hosts. A bit on the pricey side for me but large room made up for that. TV reception very poor but I believe this is to be rectified soon. A good location for me as close to where my... More

I stayed here for one night, as I was attending a Wedding in the area. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I had a lunch of delicious tomato and basil soup (home made) with sandwiches - generous portions, spot on for taste. The bedroom was large, perhaps not 5 star fittings, but very clean,... More

Disregard old reviews: hotel under new management since January 2011. We chanced upon this hotel right on the shore of Loch Gilp at the end of a long days travelling - we just wanted a bed for the night before moving on but decided to stay 2 nights instead as it was so lovely. It is in need of a... More
