We stopped here for an impromptu break, looking for some lunch early afternoon, and well after normal lunch hour. We could easily have been turned away, but were welcomed and shown into the comfortable bar. We had a very acceptable lunch which was wholesome and nutritious. The service was pleasant and efficient, and we had a comfortable rest in the... More

We went upfor a few days break to see the Cairngorns in autumn. The room was roomy, clean and comfortable. The staff were both friendly and helpful and the location majestic. The only drawback was the food in the evening. We had previously stayed at the Imperial in Exmouth (another coast and country hotel) and the preperation and presentation of... More

We had a very enjoyable 4 day break at the Invercauld Arms. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, the food was varied and, whilst the portions weren't huge, the food was tasty. We chose the hotel because we enjoy walking and the area is fantastic for a variety of walks, from short strolls to serious walking and we were... More

This is a wonderful hotel, with plenty of character, amid stunning scenery in a small Highland village. The peace and tranquility is excellent, plenty of walking close to hand , wonderful wlidlife on the doorstep. Rooms are comfortable, and you can upgrade to larger rooms with excellent facilities. The menus is very good and varied, good sized portions, the staff... More

we are a party of eight friends who holiday each year at a Shearings hotel on a self drive basis. This year at the Invercauld we enjoyed one of our best. Stay away at all costs, full of OAPs from coach tours and more like a retirement home than a hotel. Dining experience was horrific with tiny portions and meals microwaved beyond recognition. Items missing from plates compared to listing on menu, and no apology or substitution given. DO NOT STAY HERE! More

This hotel is in a great location in the beautiful village of Braemar, surrounded by the stunning Cairngorm mountains, and just a few metres from Clunie Water and the River Dee. The building exterior is stunning and is just what you would expect from the Scottish Highlands. Inside the reception area and lounge have been redecorated in a modern style... More
