Just booked our 5th stay at Ardhasaig House - in 5 consecutive years - which speaks volumes regarding our high opinion of this excellent restaurant with rooms , which Katie has created. We just love staying in the annex Barn ,which is both tastefully appointed and spacious.Sitting outside it last year, enjoying the seaview, we were also lucky enough to enjoy... More

VisitScotland (Scottish Tourist Board) advised me in July 2011 that this property had been withdrawn from the VisitScotland (star grading) Quality Assurance scheme. It no longer has a 4 star restaurant rating (it never had approval as a hotel). All VisitScotland/STB awards were supposed to have been removed from the premises and advertisements but the proprietor continues to mislead the... More

We arrived a little early however we were warmly greeted and given all the information we needed to know. The room was very clean and well presented with some complimentary wine on offer. The shower was a nice surprise as we have found water pressure to be an issue in the Hebrides. Dinner, although a set menu was superb with... More

Having seen this hotel featured on a TV programme about the Hebrides in January this year, I made a point of finding out more so we could book a meal during our holiday in September on Harris. We hoped to be able to have Lobster but due to bad weather, this did not happen - we were more than happy... More

we visited ardhasaig in july/aug this year and stayed in the barn. everything about our stay was fantastic. katie made us feel so welcome, the food, the location, the exclusivity of it is unique. although we didnt have far to travel we felt we had left all the stresses and strains behind us. anyone who complains about paying to much... We never received any response to our emails and eventually booked this by phone - even that needed a couple of attempts! The dinner is definitely overpriced - 4 courses with no choice. We were charge £48 a head for cauliflower soup, very garlicy linguine, roast lamb, and poached pear with toffee sauce. The pudding was brilliant but the others... More

Location: We found this B & B a little hard to find; the owners' website gives no directions. However, it has stunning views and is only a few minutes drive out of Tarbert. Room: Beautifully furnished, big bed, excellent en-suite. Meals: Breakfast was first class. We did not have dinner because we considered it hugely over-priced. Service: No-one was present... More

I booked dinner in the Ardhasaig House for our wedding anniversary whilst holidaying on Harris. This was as a result of watching a BBC2 documentary all about the Island which featured Katie in the kitchen. I was very excited about the prospect of going to eat in the restaurant and during a phone call with Katie I explained all the... More

This is a restaurant with rooms. Hotel; is the best fit for trip advisor! I believe here, less is more. A warm greeting from the proprietor Katie before cooking dinner individually. The 4 courses were too much so I opted for 2, expecting to pay the full charge, or a nominal reduction. I was pleasantly surprised at the price to... More

We (four friends) went to Ardhasaig House for dinner last night; it was my idea of food heaven, and their's. This was the Set menu: Starter Lentil soup made on Mutton with seeded rolls. This was the smoothest and tastiest lentil soup I've ever tasted. Katie, the chef and owner of Ardhasaig House, must have strained the liquid through a... More
