My husband and I stayed for one night in the Ferry Inn just before Christmas as we needed a place to stop over before catching the early morning ferry the next day. We had heard mixed reviews about the place and were a little apprehensive about what to expect but were delighted with what we got. (Note - a lot... more

I was unfortunate enough to stay in the ferry inn for part of my honeymoon break in Skye, that's when the nightmare began! From the minute we arrived we were made to feel like second class citizens by these pathetic would be licensees. Rude isn't the word i would use to describe the pair, food awful and overpriced, frozen peas... more

Although our hostess was very pleasant, the inn itself left a bit to be desired. Just nothing to write home about. The food was alright, but the strict serving schedule was odd (maybe due to short staffing?) and the bar maid seemed a bit surly and put off by our presence. more

We ate here 2 nights in a row on 2 & 3 August. Had the seafood crumble on same night as another reviewer. I don't recognise the previous description at all. My topping was potatoes not ready salted crisps and I had a plentiful supply of mussels (not muscles????), monkfish, prawns and crabmeat. Thought the soup and sweets were excellent.... more

Cheap motel kind of feel. We could hear the TV from other room loud and clear. The drinkers below made a lot of noise late into the night making sleeping difficult. The bathroom did not have a shower - just a tub!!! And all this for 80 pounds a night.....there are many B&Bs around which I am sure are a... more

I think this must have been the 4th time we have stayed at The Ferry Inn and again we had a good experience. We were greeted with a friendly welcome. The restaurant was busy and we enjoyed our evening meal and drinks. The room was as usual clean and comfortable with superb views across the bay. The breakfast was very... more

We stayed at this Inn during our recent 3 week tour of the Highlands and Islands. On Friday 19th June we left the Lochailort Inn on the Road to the Isles and caught the ferry from Mallaig to Armadale on Skye. We were due to catch the ferry to North Uist on Monday 22nd June from Uig so on arriving... more

As a 25th anniversary treat we decided on an escape to Skye where a fleeting visit just after we were married left us always wanting to go back.. The solitude was what we were looking for and found it to be sure. On our actual anniversary we wanted to eat out and chose the Ferry Inn for it’s reasonably priced... more

Truly awful unfriendly, unsmiling and unwelcoming. Definately not a place to bring children. Apparently it is being sold on...one can only hope. Plain pasta and a bowl of cold ketchup is what they gave my daughter. It was Fawlty Towers without the funny side. The cheaper and much friendlier bar/diner on the pier is far better bet and approved by... more

Booked the Ferry Inn after unplanned changes to our travel itineray made us homeless for a night on Skye and selected Uig from a map without knowing what to expect. We arrived in the rain at lunchtime and it rained and rained and rained before we finally checked into our room late afternoon. Having done so we visited the adjoining... more
