Really liked this hotel, its quirky and welcoming and has a great position as its right on the harbour. We paid a little extra and had a great harbour view which is a real bonus as the hotel only has one bar which has no windows. We were lucky as the weather was good and we were outside for most... stayed in this hotel? more like a trying to be upmarket B&B single room with window above kitchen, small not the word could not even sit in the toilet without the toilet paper holder digging into my ribs. Breakfast well this is the first time in Scotland while paying £80 for B&B to have to pay a supplement for a... More

Obviously we were very disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay at the hotel but feel that we must comment on a few of your objections. Firstly your room did not cost £80 it cost £65 (during high season) the same price as all our single rooms, you also did not book the room yourself or you would have... More

We stayed here for 3 nights having pre-booked the room only a week or so before. We were told that they only had 1 room left for the dates we wanted and it was overlooking the back of the hotel which didn't bother us. Upon arriving, we couldn't have been greeted any better. We had a lovely welcome with either... More

I arrived in Portree after a long drive, tired and hungry. On entering this lovely hotel, which is situated beside Portree's very picturesque harbour, was greeted by a very welcoming and friendly receptionist, who then offered me a sherry or a whisky, which was a lovely touch ( and much needed !) I have been to the Isle of Skye... More

We stayed here after our tent blew away in the Skye weather and we gave up camping! It was out of season so we managed to bargain a little and got the nicest room (all rooms are slightly different, they showed us about 3 or 4 rooms, so ask to see room first). The room was clean, had a classic... More

I was greeted and checked in by the owner of the hotel, and he and all the staff were warm, friendly and helpful. My room was not luxurious, but it was clean and comfortable. The restaurant is perhaps not worth the expense, but having it so close at hand was a nice backup. There is a fantastic little cafe, Cafe... More

We were booked into the Rosedale by the Visit Scotland folks, when we signed on for our three day bus tour to Skye. We got there about 8:30 in the evening after a long day driving across Scotland, and got a very friendly welcome with a dram of whiskey. The hotel is right on the harbor with a terrific view... More

We were here for a night. We were put up on the attic. The bed wasn't firm. But people were very helpful and the breakfast was nice too. Free internet the bar. More

What the Rosedale lacks in luxury, it more than makes up for in "character", with rooms overlooking the picturesque harbour (do book a room with a view), a nip of whiskey to welcome you, and a quirky maze of rooms and narrow stairs going every which way. Our room was not grand, but it was clean and well-equipped. The bathroom... More

Its right by the water. The staff is great and helpful. The room ambience was pretty good. The breakfast was superb. They had a nice bar/lounge to relax where you could use Wi-Fi. Great experience staying here. More
