We were looking for somewhere to eat on an extremely wild and windy night and ended up at the Dovecote without making a booking. Glad we did so - although busy (and dealing with some water issues due to the force of the rain/gale outside), staff were pleased to accommodate us. The setting in the restaurant was fantastic - very... more

Thoroughly enjoyed a three night stay at the Calgary Hotel. The setting, as others have said, is truly magical, a short walk through woodland to the sublime Calgary beach. We ate at the restaurant every evening and were impressed by the imaginative menu. Particular highlights were the scallops, Mull cheddar souffle, halibut, and chocolate and raspberry tart. The homemade chocolates... more

I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed eating in the dovecote restaurant. .i have made a lot of the very original furniture in the hotel and last winter we refurnished the dining room and several of the hotel rooms , this winter we plan to refurnish and make the rooms a little more luxuriant and special. matthew

At £120 a night bed and breakfast I would have expected a higher standard of room - we booked a 'superior' hopeing for a treat but the decor was dated and tired, bathroom tiny, nothing special - not even a biscuit or nice smellies- and situated inbetween both entrances so we were wary of openings curtains as we could be... more

Remote hotel in beautiful part of Mull. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We had a room with a view of the beach that was comfortable and included some interesting pieces of furniture made locally. The food was excellent, especially the locally sourced seafood, fish and meat. Mull is a real "away-from-it-all place": rugged, remote, beautiful. Stunning scenery around every... more

A lovely little hotel and restaurant, just a short walk from the wonderfully pretty Calgary Bay. Lovely restaurant, with an excellent menu and cuisine. Wine list pretty reasonable and look out for the fabulous carved furniture which I understand is done by the owner. Bedrooms are very comfortable and clean. Very friendly and a wonderful little place to stay when... more

We regularly spend holidays in Scotland, but the best place to rest we have ever seen is the Calgary Hotel in Mull. The Calgary Bay is a gorgeous site, and the staff at the hotel was very friendly. Our room was simple but cosy, and the atmosphere was so relaxed that we felt "as at home". We have had all... more

Getting ready to return to Calgary Hotel, Isle of Mull. We've been returning now longer than we can remember! Must check the Guest Book. Excellent accomodation and very friendly staff. Food nicely varied and well prepared. Location wonderful - 2 minutes to peaceful beach - then back up for coffee! Idyllic more

Another wonderful stay at the Calgary Hotel. We have been visiting the hotel every year since the early 90's and it's always such a pleasure. The hotel is informal and relaxing. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the food is excellent, especially the local cuisine. I always particularly enjoy the range of Scottish beers. The place is fantastic for... more
