On arrival we were made to feel very welcome and were “upgraded” to one of the newly refurbished rooms. I stayed at the Turnberry with a group of friends from London, we came up to Scotland to just relax and enjoy some "country living" and I must say the hotel delivered that 100%. I stayed at Turnberry for the second time. The place has now been refurbished and looks amazing. They have done a great job of it and I think it strikes the balance between retaining the character of the building and the modern quality required in such a hotel. The room was great. We have stayed many times at Turnberry over a 20 year period, this was the first time with our (well behaved) dog. Despite what I am about to say we love the place but it is very, very frustrating. Spent a week end at this hotel, and everything was absolutely perfect. Staff incredibly helpful, attention to details very high. Very good F&B, had dinner in the fine dining 1906 and was excellent ! This place has an incredible charme. more

I visited this hotel on the back of a US / Canada vacation for some R&R without the kids and having just been in some fantastic hotels from the starwood group i was expecting something special.
