There are rare occasions when you experience magic and so it was when we stayed at The Applecross Inn. We booked way back in May for our break in mid September 2009 but even then, there were only two rooms available for just the one night which we were pleased to take. We arrived late in the afternoon and a... more

The Inn seems to be always busy. We stayed in Applecross for seven nights and ate at the Inn just two nights (it's not the cheapest place in the world) and were lucky to be seated quite quickly. The first night we shared the big table beneath the menu board with a couple of walkers who came every year. The... more

We have just returned from 6 truly perfect nights at the Applecross Inn. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left there was never a single second of regret at our holiday choice (which for us must be a first for many years!!!!!) The views and surrounding area breathtaking (we were spoilt with a double aspect sash window... more

This Inn lives up to its reputation for good accommodation, stunning scenery and good craic ( "Conversation" for the non gaelic speaking reader). Cannot fault it. more

I visited the Inn with my boyfriend on Wed 8 July. He ordered the herring in oatmeal which he didn't realise came with skin and bones - and that you are supposed to eat the bones! He had to send it back and the staff very kindly upgraded to a (more expensive) dish of scallops at no extra cost. Amazing... more

Stayed 12th and 13th June, our first holiday with our 3 month baby. Was excellent, the Applecross Inn staff were more than helpful. Even when we wanted to dig into our meal sitting outside in the warm evening when our baby was wanting attention, a waitres took her a walk for us to dig into the lovely seafood. Room was... more

Just how this hotel manages to produce such fantastic food, in such numbers is beyond me ... and at good prices too. It appears the Applecross area has recently received TV celebratory status. As a result, the visitor numbers have rocketed, and well done the inn for keeping pace. If hope the Applecross area and inn continue after this burst... more

We were passing thru Applecross and coincidentally discovered a room vacant in the Inn (apparently another couple didnt fancy having a room over the bar as most are, their loss, our gain). The rooms are clean and have a great view. No phone or tv but thats absolutely no loss. The bar is very informal and the food is good.... more

If you stay here you need to be aware that most of the rooms are above the busy, boisterous bar area and have poor noise insulation. You will, therefore, fall into one of these categories: - Staying up to midnight anyway so the noise doesn't bother you - Tired / drunk enough to get to sleep despite the noise (that... more

After an evening 'white knuckle' drive over the cloud topped Bealach Na Ba it was a relief to arrive at the Applecross Inn. Instantly made to feel at home by the 'owneress'. Room was a bit small and cramped for the price but the Inn has a captive market and the view more than compensated. The bar/restaurant was heaving when... more
