We stayed over night while walking the GGW. When we first arrived bar maid seemed a bit disinterested but we booked in and the rooms were basic, but had plainly been newly painted with new bathrooms fitted. We ate in the bar and food was pub food but good and fairly priced. Steve the manager? was chatty and a good... More

Can't really comment on the place for a stay but went in for a meal on Saturday night and it was one of the worst meals we have ever had. The fries looked and tasted as if they were a week old. The burger buns were huge but untoasted and dry (no spread) and the burger itself looked tiny sitting... More

This was our third visit and we will return. Great bar with a terrific selection of beers. The atmosphere is special, so friendly. The food is fine and plentiful, the breakfast sets you up for a days sightseeing.

Had a great stay at the hotel while walking the Great Glen Way for Cancer Research with my friends Mo. Anne and Lorraine, Steve and staff were very friendly, breakfast was delicious, black pudding yummy and mushrooms even better. A big thanks to Steve who kindly donated to our charity and a big thanks also to the rep who took... More

I experienced a warm and genuine welcome from Steve and staff, their guests and regulars. The rooms were clean and comfortable; the cooked breakfast was top-notch; and the evening menu consistently delivered hearty dishes - including a highly recommended Haggis Pizza! But even better than the menu is the phenomenal range of "Ness" beer which is brewed locally, and proudly,... More

The pub in the hotel was recommended by the ticket guy at the Urquhart Castle. Great fish & chips, very friendly patrons and staff, and very nice microbrew beer. Could have stayed all day sampling the various brews, but had to drive (on the wrong side of the road mind you) back to Inverness. Plaque on the wall read Pub... More

Called in for a Bar lunch, very friendly staff, good food, excellent real ale and dog friendly in the bar. CAMRA Bar of the year 2012. Worth a visit, although the bar could do with an update, but I believe this may be in hand.

Stayed overnight on a groupon deal, couldn't fault any aspect of the stay, great bar, friendly welcome and really good well cooked food. Usually there would be a "but" or "however" absolutely not, real coal fire, dog, ale.... What more could anybody want??
