We spent an overnight at this lovely peaceful location and enjoyed a delicious 7 course taster menu. Superb food and relaxing atmosphere, along with very friendly hosts. Nice large comfortable rooms with ensuite facilities. Despite a previous comment about heating we found the place warm and cozy. Much more homely than many of the bigger hotels that we have experienced... More

We were looking forward to a warm, cosy evening, having travelled some hours in the freezing conditions in early February, but unfortunately the heating had been off for some time it seems and the whole place was literally freezing cold. We had an excellent dinner in the cold dining room, we all had to keep our jackets on and huddled... More

Thanks for your kind comments on the food. I am sorry you found it cold. Had you mentioned this at the time we could have provided extra heating for the room. Although you were in the hotel on the first night we were open after our annual winter closure, the heating had been on throughout the day and night for... More

The owners are welcoming and helpful as are the staff at this understated gem of a hotel in possibly one of the most breathtaking locations in Scotland. We stayed for one night in a room with a magnificent view over Loch Earn and the mountains to the south. A super comfortable super king sized bed coupled with the sheer tranquility... More

Thanks for taking the time to write a review, and for your generous comments: you've managed to sum up the area and the the way we try to run the hotel very accurately, and hopefully we will see you again later in the year. Regards Alan Gibson More

We stayed here several times a few years ago and really loved it. We returned recently for a long weekend, albeit with a small amount of trepidation as we aware that the owners had changed. Thankfully we need not have worried, and in fact the changes that the Gibsons have made are all for the better. It remains a lovely... More

Thanks for taking the time to write a review, and for your kind comments. When we took over the hotel in 2009 we wanted to continue the tradition of good food and a warm welcome that the hotel has been know for for many years, so I'm pleased that you think we have succeeded in this. In a hotel, refurbishment... More

I spent two nights here with friends and we were all very impressed with this small hotel. The owners are a charming couple who do all they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The bedroooms are well furnished with recently renovated bathrooms and the public rooms are very cosy and welcoming. Best of all was the food... More

I thought a lot before writing this review ….. Why because we have just found a diamond in the making ! The sort of place you don’t want to advertise as you may find it hard to book again !! We arrived for a birthday celebration weekend and within a couple of hours were totally chilled out. The hotel is... More

Thanks for your kind comments, and I'm glad you enjoyed the Perthshire Duo: along with the hake with neeps and saffron and a beetroot foam it is my favourite dish at this time of year. You mention the broken tiles in the bathroom. I'm sorry about those: we are refurbishing that bathroom when we close in December and January, replacing... More

Hubby and I are just back from a 2 night stay at Achray House. We absolutely loved it, the food was amazing, the people were lovely, and the location really can't be beaten. There were a few wee things that weren't perfect (broken tiles) but you'd be daft to let that spoil the overall experience. The owners are extremely warm... More

Thanks for taking the time to write a review, and for your kind comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the food. In many ways this is the best time of year for food. With the abundance of local game we really enjoy cooking at this time of year. Regards Alan Gibson More
