This was a beautiful hote in a lovely position right opposite the beach but I think it has seen better times. John and Doreen were exceptional good hosts and the breakfast was excellent but the room was tired and needed updating. However we were the only guests for most of our stay and the peace and tranquility was all we... More

Having just returned from The Burlington in Whiting Bay, Isle of Arran I must say this is one of the nicest short beaks we have had. The hotel is excellent, scottish breakfasts to die for, rooms spotless, and John and Doreen just cannot do enough for you. They were just the perfect hosts. The views from our rooms were quite... The fourth time we stayed with John & Doreen, the fourth time we enjoyed a comfortable night, clean & spacious room, & excellent breakfast. If you're lucky (we always are) try Johns home baked bread. Walkers can rely on good advice. More

The perfect spot to relax with your fantastic hosts, John and Doreen, who are always available with suggestions as to where to visit and where to dine. The hotel is spacious, clean and comfortable, the breakfasts are perfect and nowhere on the Island is more than 45 minutes drive away. Whiting Bay is a peaceful spot yet only 10-15 minutes... More

B & B. A very spacious room on the top floor. Good WiFi reception. The building is accross the road from the beach and the sunrise over the water was spectacular. The owners and staff were friendly and could offer service in multiple languages. Pets were welcome and those that were there were quiet. More

We arrived without warning the owners beforehand that we were bringing our dog, which didn't go down too well, though having booked online there was no indication we should. But that wee nip in the air soon thawed out. The owners went to a lot of trouble to make us welcome, and fed us fine breakfasts. My partner cut his... More

I've had the pleasure of visiting this guest house several times over the years and have never been disappointed. From the friendly welcome of the owners and the staff and their general helpfulness, great breakfast, splendid views and well-appointed rooms - it's a great home-from-home. I look forward to more visits. More

I stayed for 3 nights at the burlington in July of this year. After I had read several good reviews of this property I thought it would be a good bet. However I have to say that I was very disapointed. The owner/staff were not very helpful- the room was not very clean. I actually found the staff to be... More

We stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of June. The hotel is in a beautiful location and was easy to get to by bus. We stayed in a very spacious room on the 3rd floor and loved it. We thought that the breakfasts were quite tasty and filling, contrary to the review below. The owners were very friendly... More

Did not do justice to true Scottish Food. Limited choice at breakfast, no kippers,no black pudding or haggis pudding no oatcakes not the best of a full Scottish Breakfast. Room comfortable but a bit cluttered stayed three nights and towels never changed even though I put towels in bath as instructed. It uses the term hotel loosely as it only... More
