Very welcoming; clean, fresh accommodation in quiet location ideally placed for access to the town (5 min walk). Rooms of a good size, well furnished.Excellent breakfast. Ideal if you're looking for good quality accommodation with a personal touch. I haven't been to a "B&B" for many, many years and didn't know what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised and... more

I have stayed at Alltan on three separate occasions over a period of three years - and the reason that I have been drawn back there time and again is that it so perfectly compliments the wonderful experiences I have enjoyed on the Isle of Arran. It feels very much as if one is staying in someone's home, because of... more

We were made to feel most welcome by both Heather & Terry and found the accommodation very comfortable indeed. Heather gave us good information on the expected weather and suggestions on what to do on the island. The breakfast was very tasty. On the day we left Heather & Terry were travelling on the same ferry as ourselves and very... more

What a lovely, relaxing stay! We came with friends on our first visit to Arran, and look foreward to returning. Heather and Terry were welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts and made our short break a lovely experience. The home baked treats were delicious, (and the breakfasts substantial!) the accommodation is tasteful and very comfortable, and the setting beautiful. We stayed... more

We spent 4 nights at the Raeside's beautiful, welcoming home. It was a truly delightful experience, with delicious breakfasts and amazing home baked treats, Heather even shared her recipes. We would go back tomorrow if we could, the only hiccup was the usual Scottish weather, which can be challenging. Great holiday! more

We had a warm welcome from Heather with a pot of tea and cake on the terrace. Extensive library of guides and books in the visitors' lounge were of great use and interest. Breakfast was a treat with a wide choice to meet all appetites, both vast and modest. Accomodation was immaculately clean and tidy and with the little extras... more

My husband and I stayed at the Alltan for two nights towards the end of our 2 week holiday motorcycling down along the west coast of Scotland and the Alltan was the only 4 star B&B we stayed at throughout our journey (the rest being 3 star). The room was lovely (we stayed in the twin room) and cosy and... more

We arrived early on the ferry and Heather said our room was ready and invited us in asked if she could carry our cases. After showing us our room asked us if we wanted some tea after our journey. Terry came with some tea, cake which was yummy and home made biscuits. Such a nice touch and very thoughtful. Our... more

A good base for exploring the island. Helpful advice from the hostess and the other guests. Recommend "Walks Isle of Arran" by Richard Hallewell. (£2.95). Disappointed to have missed the red, basking, minke dolphins (& Terry). Maybe next time! more
