Given the friendly and helpful manner of the staff, it would be unkind to be too harsh on the Craws Nest Hotel. The staff do the best with the hotel they've got, but it doesn't appear to have been redecorated since the Queen dropped by in 1982. There are photographs of this visit everywhere and I suspect the owners have...

we stayed in this hotel for two nights we had three rooms. We were in the annex and apart from being able to hear doors opening and shutting we found it most pleasant. Rooms were a little on the small side but we were not in them much other than to sleep. Food was very good and the staff were...

We were really pleased to get a room and at a reduced price. Room nothing special as bed was quite hard. I agree that there was a smell of smoke and there were quite a few butts outside our window which had come from above or to the side.
We didnt book an evening meal but asked if we could...

Great location BUT a tired looking hotel. Bedrooms too small and certainly don't match advertised photos on-line. The food not great unless you order the 'battered fish' (superb). young friendly staff.
Very disappointing.

Smell of cigarette smoke on entry to the hotel!!. We have travelled extensively in UK and abroad and this the worst we have come across. Only good thing...

As a treat for my 50th birthday, my parents took my partner and I to the hotel.
We had requested a ground floor disabled room as my father has difficulty walking and can't manage stairs - the room was in an annex, across the car park and down a hill from the main building. This meant that he had to...

We came for a break to this hotel having ascertained that our room would be suitable for wheelchair users. On arrival we found that we were in the annexe which is down a fairly steep incline. I was unable to get my husbands wheelchair into the room as the door was not wide enough. Despite having been assured that the...
