Stayed here recently one Saturday with my pregnant girlfriend and two friends to attend a wedding. The house & room were lovely.. nicely decorated and very clean. When we returned from the wedding at 1am we were sat chatting at normal volume with the TV on low. The owner (I presume) twice came up to our room, let herself in... More

Stayed here overnight for two nights, a week apart. First night the owner was on holiday, but left the running of the house in the very capable hands of her daughter in law, who's breakfast was just perfect. The room was very clean and comfortable, so much so we looked forward to returning on our way back up north a... More

Despite booking in April 2011 and phoning back to confirm the booking, we were told on the day - when phoning to confirm check-in time - that there was apparently "no record of our booking". We were hundreds of miles from home. The owner was less than helpful. She gave us a number for another B&B (fully booked). Can't comment... More

There appear to be other guest houses in Wimborne with higher ratings than Gordon House, but this is hard for me to believe. Gordon House is certainly one of the best guest houses I have stayed in over the past 20 years. The thing that really stuck out for me was the absense of ANY unpleasant surprises. Everything was clean,... More

We stayed here 5 times throughout the summer as we had to do some repeat ecological surveys in the area. We can't praise it enough, comfortable, clean, cosy, really good breakfast and the people who run it are lovely, can't do enough for you. Brilliant, would definitely recommend it. More

I recently stayed four nights at Gordon house when my son got married and found it to be excellent in every respect. I chose it on its position, rather than anything else, as it's very close to the centre of Wimborne, so you can imagine how pleased I was to discover that it was also impeccably clean, the room was... The people running this exquisite but old establishment are down to earth, friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. The building has an air of mystery and adventure. Ask the owners and they will thrill you with stories of times gone by, about how the area was used for smuggling and the reported tunnels that weave like spaghetti under Gordon... More

Somebody else called the Gordon House “The only thing we could find” and gave a mere two stars. I don't know what they were expecting. True, there are no uniformed bellboys and neither is there a salon with a piano trio playing for afternoon tea. But maybe you're like me and have no wish to pay for such things. I... More

We arrived in Wimborne Minister at dinner time after a long day. Hadn't booked ahead as we didn't know where we'd end up that day. This was the only place we could find that had a room for 2 nights in October after calling on several others. It was OK. Rather worn out, but clean. Owners helpful, but not overly... More
