Parts of our one night stay were very good. Check in was smooth and the room was clean if uninspiring. Others have already commented on the extensive views of the car park, but this didn't really matter to us. Dinner was very pleasant and the views over Chesil Bank from the restaurant rival anything to be found in the UK.... More

The best thing about the hotel is the panoramic view you get from the restaurant and ofcourse the location in itself. We'd been on a holiday to Weymouth and decided to stay here based on previous reviews and the unique location. We weren't disappointed! The breakfast is totally refreshing. Yes, we'd come here again!

The Heights Hotel is clean and comfortable. But it's when you step outside you can see the benefits of it's location. It has a stunning view of the World famous Chesil Beach and the national sailing academy. You are only a few steps away from a breathtaking free sculpture park with it famous Anthony Gormley carving in the wall. The... More

I stay in many hotels on business and throughout Europe on holiday with my family and I thought this hotel was great. Other reviews mention no sea view which is true but they did mention this when booking. We could actually see a bit of the sea from our room, admittedly off to the side. The best place to view... Oh dear... A long drive in Bank Holiday traffic and you see your hotel and sigh. It looks like a car park with windows... 1970's nightmare but maybe the interior is better !! No it isn't. It wasn't the romantic place you may expect from Dorset and the room was small and the view of the car park grim. It... More

Thank you, in response to your comments, we have ample FREE car parking and I think the large windows you refer to are in our Bistro and overlook our spectacular views of Chesil Beach, Lyme Bay and Portland Harbour. We have investigated your other concerns and can only apologise for any inconvenience caused during your stay. More

The best thing about the hotel is the view. The only time we saw the view while in the hotel was when we had breakfast (and dinner, I have reviewed the restaurant separately). The room had a view of the car park, it (the room, not the car park) was a good size, with twin beds and a table with... More

Not a good start: - made a coffee and found that the milk and cream in the room was old and gone off, also - the fire alarm went off and lasted for a long time - the room was much smaller than I had expected and paid for - the view from the window was a car-park Otherwise -... More

For about 30 days in January and February I had need of multiple rooms in Portland for business reasons, and for the majority of our stay managed to secure the entire hotel. I am fully aware that it was not the easiest time for the hotel personnel, with early starts, constant comings and goings, and last minute arrivals to accommodate.... More

All was good, no complaints. Didn't eat in the restaurant as we were meeting locals somewhere else. Could have got the same for cheaper is why this only gets a 4. Location is good for Portland, great views over the south coast.

My partner and I visited for a night in February as a 30th birthday present, we had our 15 month old daughter with us too. The staff made us feel at ease, so friendly and it's no exaggeration to say they went above & beyond, especially in a bid to entertain a mischievous toddler toddling round their hotel!! Food was...
