We didn't stay here so I can't comment on the rooms but we did have a drink one day an supper the next. For a drink it seems ok, but supper was over priced and so so slow to arrive. The bar area is traditional and welcoming however the dining area is brightly lit and rather drab to the point... More

We walked the coastal path from Hope Cove to Bantham and had lunch and a needed bottle of wine at the Sloop. Lovely and cosy pub with great food and superb service. Dog and children friendly, really relaxed feel. It was incredibly busy at New Year but its the kind of place where you can squeeze on to a table... More

First visited The Sloop [a dog friendly pub] during the New Year holiday in 2009. We were seated in the dining room at rear and side of pub which felt rather bare and uninviting however the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. [Our accommodation was at the very comfortable Owl Barn 2 miles inland from... More

Sunday lunch, 2nd sitting, the pub was packed - so far so good. We waited a short time to be seated (and then we were sent and not guided) ok, then waited 20 minutes to be served, when we asked we were told orders for food to be given at the bar. We then overheard, but could not be sure,... More

We last stayed here 20 years ago and I was a little worried I would be disappointed. Not so, it is even better than I remembered. The rooms have been beautifully refurbished, the staff are extremely polite and friendly and the food is delicious. More

Stayed here for a few nights with my boyfriend. Rooms were very comfortable. As some have mentioned, the stairs leading up to the rooms are a bit dirty, but that is to be expected with everyone coming in off the beach!! You are less than 5 minutes down to Bantham Beach which is gorgeous! The food in the Sloop Inn... More

The location is great as is food - breakfasts ample and dinners very good. Room good and bed comfy but strange that wall mirror placed so that the hairdryer flex doesn't stretch far enough to see what you are doing! Use of kettle had to be on the floor as power cable also too short to use anywhere else. Great... More
