The jewel in La Barbarie is its restaurant. Every meal that we ate was outstanding. Staff are attentive and a delight. Our room was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The only demerit was the small bath. Highly recommended. more

My husband and I have just returned from ten days in Guernsey and we stayed at the most friendly hotel we have ever experienced. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the service was first rate. The food was especially delicious, with an excellent choice and at reasonable prices. The room was clean and promptly serviced every day... more

We prefer the informality and freedom of self-catering holidays and regularly take this type of holiday. We were very impressed with the facilities provided at La Barbarie, the space and layout of the apartment was great. We were further impressed with the provision of good quality cookware and crockery, even washing-up liquid, kitchen cloths, tea-towels and a set of kitchen... more

What more can you say. The hotel was perfect again this year. Andy and his staff were all excellent in service, nothing was too much trouble for them. The restaurant so good that it was difficult to choose which item to have from the table d'hote menu. Each night it changed, each night it was good. We played guess the... more

The first trick, if you are driving, is to find the hotel. It is tucked away in a narrow wooded valley, and is not signposted. Once found, the car park is large. However, access to the hotel via stoney, stepped paths, and then via steep staircases and narrow corridors to upstairs rooms, is not easy for anyone with limited mobility... more

I agree with one of the previous guests. We had a two bedroomed apartment, which was lovely and large. However, we were on the top floor, and were constantly aware of making any noise, so not to disturb the guests underneath. You could hear even footsteps and the constant sshhh to my children irritated me slightly. A couple of the... more

We stayed for 9 nights. The hotel and restaurant to us were a good reflection of Guernsey itself; friendly, welcoming, relaxed and orderly. The bed may indeed be too big for the room, but I'd rather have that then the opposite. Room was clean, cosy and comfortable. Hotel and surroundings were quiet and peaceful. Breakfast satisfactionary ( Great coffee!), lunch... more

Had a 5 night stay in a 2 bed apartment. There was nothing expectionally wrong but from reviews on this website was just expecting more. Apartment was roomy with nice aspect overlooking the pool. Two rooms permanently smelt of damp probably due to water from flat above cascading down the outside wall. No washing machine or laundry facilites which was... more
