I am used to spending my time in lots of faceless large chain hotels so to visit a place like Hunters was a breath of fresh air. Hunters stood out for lots of reasons including welcoming staff, beautiful gardens and lovely rooms. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed sitting in the bar after dinner relaxing by the fire.... More

We wanted a quiet break away for the May bank holiday and Hunters was perfect. We got a great rate for 2 nights plus 1 dinner, but also ate dinner on the second night as it was so good. The hotel was perfect - quiet, old fashioned but very comfortable. The food is excellent, especially dinner. The room was really... More

We recently considered this hotel for a family celebration as we had eaten lunch there on a previous occasion and thought it was quite nice. However when arriving to have drinks on sunday evening- the reception we received was appalling. We asked the barman who we could speak to about booking rooms in the hotel for the occasion as well... This lovely, small, family run hotel transports one back to a bygone era in a truly authentic way. We popped in for afternoon tea followed by a stroll in the beautiful adjoining garden. Reluctant as we were to leave and head back to the big smoke, we lingered a little longer over a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Blissful it was... More

We had a family night away at Hunter's Hotel last month and it was a truly wonderful experience. It's a short drive from Dublin and easy to find. We checked in and headed straight for the garden to enjoy some drinks in the sunshine. The staff are all so helpful and friendly and make you feel very welcome to be... More

Great location. Gorgeous dinner but at fixed price so you couldn't not have 5 courses ! A bit ridiculous if you weren't that hungry. Skylight right above bed so extremely early morning wake up, surely they should have thought about this or have received complaints about it and could have a blind on it. I like to get up early... Just returned from a wonderful night at Hunters hotel. It is a rare gem, the type of place you used to find in ireland pre celtic tiger; proper old style hospitality, beautiful surroundings, and slightly reminiscent of your granny's house, which makes it even nicer in my opinion. Gorgeous flowers from the garden, open fires and interesting staff. Also, take... More

If you enjoy a rare opportunity to experience a hotel with ambience, don't miss Hunter's. This hotel, or coaching inn (probably the correct label) belongs to a breed that is becoming increasingly rare. Old woodwork and polished brass. In the same family for generations and maintained and run with precious, loving affection, both building and gardens, this is a place... More

Lovely old hotel that has changed in decades. The food is simple and excellent, grown locally or in the hotels large gardens. Beautiful gardens with tea or lunch served on the lawns. Wonderful calm bedrooms. The place to spend a week with some good books and daily visits to the gardens and stately homes in the area. Very kind and... More

The Hunter's hotel is certainly in a nice location and does haves a charming ambience. We did not stay here but ate in the restaurant. The food was OK rather than great and certainly nothing out of the ordinary. Given that the Hunter's is expensive, one would expect better for the money. One of us is vegetarian, and there was...
