food and service was baaaaad owner was drunk and more of a pain than a help when I wanted my steak cooked right. Never going back! I didnt have to pay for my steak but I did have to listen to him talk for a long time.

Poorly run by owners, management. Could have potential, but would need someone with personality and communication skills not to mention business management and administration ability. This is an excellent outdoor recreation area but as for the bar and grill at this establishment you can do better elsewhere. Check the other reviews for this and other options in the area.

If your planning on staying in the standard size cabins, ONLY do so w/ a total of 2 in your group. These cabins are TINY, great for 2 buddies fishing together, but no room for much else. Wish we knew this prior to making a reservation.

Stayed in one of the 12 modern log cabin units. Stayed here for a long weekend of fishing. Cabins were fine. Clean and very reasonably priced. Cabin was divided in two with adjoining door, so it would work nicely if you were with another couple or taking a larger family. Went to this restaurant - "the best in town" - some 18 miles outside of Pierre, on the recommendation of the motel clerk.
