We were headed to SC for a wedding and reserved a room at Abingdon- the meals were amazing, with lovely breakfast fare and touches (such as violets garnishing the plates) that are rarely seen in most inns. The breakfast room is all windows, overlooking a great landscaping job and fun views of the resident chicken and bunnies. The breakfast china... More

Off 95, excellent location for those traveling north or south. Inn keepers are very gracious and the dinner is special. We like to stop on our way to and from Florida. Just a very nice break and much, much better than the hotels on the highway. Not too far off the interstate so it is not inconvenient. Special.

For the past 4-5 years, we have made this stop a must for our trips up and back from FL to the northeast. After a long day on the road what could be better than being greeted at this historical inn, just off 95, by Michael and Patty the awesome proprietors of this inn. There are drinks in one of... More

From the moment that Michael greets you by name to the last morsel of the wonderful creations from Patty's kitchen, you will be treated to an extraordinary experience where your hosts seem to have thought of every detail moments before you realize that is exactly what you wanted. Clearly, hospitality is a passion with these inn keepers and they transform... More

A week before my weekend trip to South Carolina, my host called and asked us to bring some nicer clothes because we would be taken to somewhere special for dinner Saturday night. I'm thinking, 'OK; sounds good.' I was told it was only a 20-minute from where we were staying, so I really wondered where we'd be going, as Myrtle... More

By accident we stumbled upon Abingdon Manor on a drive from Key Largo back to New Jersey. After staying in the usual roadside hotel, this historic gem was a true pleasure. Unfortunately our stay was too short. The owner, Michael, stayed late just to us in. And both Michael and Patty were up at the crack of dawn to prepare... More

We stopped over on our way to Jacksonville, FL. We stayed in the Master Suite which was perfect for us. The room and bath were very clean and a good size for a B&B. The bed was so comfy! We enjoyed a 6 course Lobster Thermidor dinner which was absolutely delicious. I'm even thinking of returning for a cooking class.... More

This was a suprise holiday trip for my husband. Michael made booking was so pleasant. He listened to my ideas and made suggestions for our trip. I booked a package and for this trip was what we needed. Stayed in the main floor room and had plenty of space to relax. It was at the back of the house and... More

From the moment you book your reservation to the last moment you leave, Abingdon Manor is an experience of the superb. The property is gorgeously maintained with beautiful furnishings. Our bed was so comfortable and the sheets felt like butter, they were so soft. The Savannah room had a large bathroom with a big walk in shower. We didn't watch... More

My wife and I stumbled upon a terrific B&B in Latta, SC, about 5 miles off I-95 just south of the North Carolina, South Carolina border. We were looking for a highway stopover on our way from Baltimore to Hilton Head, SC, saw a listing for the Abington Manor in the AAA guide and thought we would try something other... More

Abingdon Manor provides the only luxury accommodations in the Carolinas or Georgia close to interstate 95. The Inn is listed by AAA as a “Classic Country Inn” and had received the prestigious Four Diamond rating for fifteen consecutive years. The property, on the National Register of Historic Places, was built at the beginning of the 20th century as an opulent private home and, while now an Inn, retains the feel of an opulent private residence. A member of Select Registry, Distinguished Inns of North American, Abingdon Manor is ranked among the best Inns in the country. Located in a residential section of the historic district in the charming village of Latta it is just 25 miles north of Florence. The Inn is halfway between New York City and Palm Beach as well as Washington DC and Jacksonville, Florida and it is just 5 miles east of 95. Purchased by Michael and Patty Griffey from Miami, Florida in 1995 to operate as a luxury Inn, extensive renovations, decorating and landscaping have turned this magnificent building into a refined, elegant setting for travelers. The seven guest rooms in the 10,000 square foot building insures privacy, peace and tranquility. The award winning restaurant, The Dining Room at Abingdon Manor, also rated Four Diamonds by AAA, provides fine dining nightly, with full liquor and wine listing.
