Spur of the moment we drove over from neighboring Charleston to find this suprise right in our own backyard. My husband and I are nature lovers and even though it had rained all day the property was still beautiful upon our late afternoon arrival. We stayed in a kitchen house room to be close to the water. We walked the... more

My wife and I stayed here with our extended family this July. Our group rented the entire "Kitchen" building and after a LONG drive it was the perfect retreat. There is very little signage and the plantation itself is quite a distance from the road, so we would not reccomend arriving after dark, although we had no trouble finding the... more

Our night at Mansfield plantation was certainly the accomodation-highlight of our two-week-journey through the United States. From our first reservation-request on, the housekeeper has been most friendly and helpful. While most historical B&B shun families, at Mansfield plantation a cod was expecting our little daughter and even a children's seat got organized for the bicycles which are free to use... more

Clean, comfortable and historically enlightening. The plantation is far enough off the main road to offer a quiet and private setting. Though the original house and out buildings have been updated, the original slave quarters have not been touched. The host at this B and B made an incredible breakfast. Be sure to bring your mosquito repellant, you'll need it. more

Stayed for four nights, thoroughly amazed at how peaceful, beautiful, and quiet the plantation was - we sat in hammocks, watched the sun set over the marshes, wandered around picking out new birds and looking for crocodiles, all the while - about a half hour from Myrtle Beach. Breakfast was delicious, and the rooms were very comfortable. Hope to return. more

Charming, relaxed, off the beaten path, true low country charm from this rice field plantation. The drive into the plantation is flanked on either side by enormous Oaks and Camelia. We stayed in the guest quarters house off to the left. Great room, large charming, with full bath. Brought our lab who loved running along the rice field dikes. Outside... more

I had the pleasure of staying at Mansfield Plantation over a long weekend between two business meetings. I was looking for a quiet, restful spot to relax and unwind for the weekend and boy, did I find it!! The Plantation oozed charm, hospitality, and grace out of every venerable pore. Kathryn, the warm and ready-to-please innkeeper, is a jewel and... more

We were on a vacation with our main goal as relaxation. When we saw the sign for Mansfield Plantation, it was several miles outside of Georgetown, S.C. We started down the dirt road and realized this would be fairly isolated. When we arrived at the end of the road, we saw a pretty brick house with several brick guest houses... more

We stayed in the Lance room at the Mansfield Plantation for a weekend getaway after the holiday hustle and bustle. What a great place to relax. The owners and the innkeeper Kathryn exude the graciousness of Southern hospitality -- very pleasant and really make one feel welcome. We enjoyed long walks on the rice paddies and learned a bit of... more
