The Marriot has a very stylish but comfortable style. The entire hotel was spotless. The location is a little outside downtown but is an easy drive to wherever you want to go. more

This recently renovated Marriott (once a Sheraton, among other brands) is about a mile and a half from the center of historic Charleston--so Charleston's attractions are close, but not as close as you might like, at times. We stayed here for 1 night on a Saturday 8-8-09 and it was the ideal Marriott experience that we've gotten use to: clean, friendly / helpful staff, easy to find, modern, nice touches, etc. The room, bathroom, hallways, elevators, lobby, restaurant and pool area were all very clean. My husband and I went here for our anniversary and it was just sooooo lovely!!! Look at the photos on marriott.com and that is what you will get! The rooms were really nice and charming!!! Service was nice, very professional and polite. The outdoor area was nothing short of beautiful!!! ...and there was a bar on the 3rd floor deck... more

I just stayed at the Marriott Charleston on August 7-9. I had an enjoyable stay at the hotel. The room was your typical Marriott room and amenities. They have a nice pool, gym, and business center (with free internet and printing). I had the breakfast buffet both mornings and it was your typical fare but it was a nice start... more

Clean, bright, comfortable. Nice Pool area. Concierge was very helpful. convenient to drive downtown - $6/day shuttle didn't fit our needs.. Got a great price on Priceline. Desk clerks were not very helpful. Asked about wireless internet and was told it was $10/day. Didn't mention free business center more

Let me first say that Charleston is a great place to visit - HOWEVER, the Charleston Marriott is located in a not so safe part of town. Front desk clerk gave wrong information on shuttles, did not give breakfast ticket (which was already paid for in advance), smoke/fire alarms went off twice during one night (11 pm and 2 am)... more

My family spent 4 days at the Marriott Charleston. The hotel lobby area is nice, as well as the courtyard. The rooms are o.k., but the bathrooms are TOO small reminiscient of being on an airplane. It appears the rooms were renovated within the last 5 years, but the bathrooms could use a makeover. The carpet was not very clean... more
